They’ve literally just put a moratorium on it until they can make up the new rules. They’re making it all up on the fly. Masters leaving while we are down isn’t beyond the realms of possibility. We all know that the big (6 or whatever the hell you want to call the teams that are calling the shots) put pressure on to appoint their man who would do their bidding and they could do it again with an even tighter remit to keep us out or hamstring us in some way even if they let us in. The risk is there and plain to see. It’s a massive massive risk.

How can I know the answer to that? But they’ve literally just put rules in place that prevent us getting sponsorship in. You cannot tell me they won’t be able to make up more rules. Try to tell me they cannot make up more rules. Come at me.

I think what’s different here is that none of those clubs were the richest team in the world. January is big for us, we literally have to spend our way out. Not convinced we’ll do that though or be able to do that if players don’t want to come. But it’s a huge factor.

I suppose that’s exactly it, it hasn't been well executed because one minute the takeover was off and it was all going through the courts and the next minute it was approved by the PL out of nowhere. The consortium probably thought they were months or even years away from having to come in and start everything if they even thought it was going to happen at all. They had been planning on Rafa and likely him telling them everything they needed to sort for the club and suddenly he’s no longer available. I think they are literally starting from scratch and having to do it all on the fly. Imagine being given the shell of a PL club and being told ‘all yours, off you go. Oh and by the way everything is out of date (including your team manager) and you’re in the relegation zone. Enjoy!’
