This is likely the position of the consortium and why they are hesitating. For me though, you may as well have Jones there while they look.

Not sacking Bruce aside they’ve done nothing else wrong. Its gonna take a bit of time to get the right building blocks in place but it’ll come.

Sacking Bruce would actually buy the consortium a bit more time in terms of alleviating the pressure on themselves to find the right manager and DoF/ whatever. Keeping Bruce there just makes it more urgent and is also meaning there is more pressure from fans because him being there still is making us twitchy. He needs to go and we can all chill a bit and all pull in the right direction, even if results are bad for a bit.
