Yeah I’m not saying Shearer is even the right choice as an interim solution. I just wondered whether they might be considering it. He’d probably not want it anyway as I think he’s said he’s not looking for a managers job ever again.

I wonder if they would consider Shearer as an interim figurehead option with Jones coaching. Not saying it’s a good idea but I could see them doing this kind of thing because I’m not convinced they have got a manager lined up and it looks like they are gonna bin Bruce (thank the lord)

I don’t think they’ve had time to get a manager lined up. Seems even they were caught out by the speed of the takeover going through. They’d planned for Rafa but he’s not available now so they’re likely trying to work out who to go for. Could take a while. In the meantime I think Jones will be caretaker with perhaps some of the academy coaches/ short term coaching appointments to help out.

Brilliant. Never seen this. Hopefully he’ll also do a vid on the proper use of the word ‘peddle’ It doesn’t mean to sack or get rid of something as seems to get used round here a lot. You only ‘peddle’ a manager if you are trying to sell him/ offer him for sale. Like Pardew used to do with our best players. So if you are saying ‘Bruce should be peddled’, you are essentially saying ‘Bruce should be offered for sale’ or we should convince someone to buy him. I’ll get off me high horse now.

We need him gone. I don’t want him part of this new era and riding the bandwagon of good feeling. It’ll taint it somehow. He’s part of the old regime, get him gone.

Not a fan of the Saudi flag waving. But… is there not an element of it just being a very human trait of trying to establish common ground and friendly terms with someone you are well disposed towards because they have just bought your club after 14 years of hell? Being welcoming etc.. I don’t think some people think in terms of geopolitics.
