  1. Maybe it's been agreed as part of the deal, if they are being 'skipped' that is. That’s what I’m hoping
  2. Few people saying they’re being replaced with the LED boards SD ones?
  3. But why go to the unnecessary expense of replacing signage if a takeover is near?
  4. Question is though, if a sale is close why bother replacing signage? Unnecessary cost surely.
  5. Oh glorious glorious sweet mother of mercy!! Please be real
  6. Pretty fair generalisation Thought showers was another, now thankfully defunct corporate bullshit phrase. We always used to print out these (bit old now but you get the meaning) and play bullshit bingo in the opening plenary session with the GM at conference, until some knackered decided to jump up and shout ‘house’. http://i.imgur.com/CqhrV21.jpg You dont have the best one on there.....SYNERGY. I work in a corporate oil and gas office here in the US and some of these corporate bullshit words boul my p*ss to extreme levels. Only last week during a meeting I had one of the superintendents say to me " the water is low and the rocks are showing" apparently he meant we are in the s***. This c*** is a proper blue sky thinking ladder climber It’s always the ladder climbers that spout this kind of s***. They want to sound clever to impress people above them and love to hear themselves talk. I feel you could engage in a more purpose-driven implementation of the takeaways from this, LV. shudder
  7. Optics! That’s another one doing the rounds at the moment.

  9. ‘In the ‘insert word here’ space’ when talking about a certain issue. Eg We need to discuss the way forward in the public policy space
  10. how do you know about the meeting? i read about it last week, annual pl meeting which all clubs must attend, also any club changing ownership has to inform other clubs at the meeting, reasons to me are unknown ,im not one for digging the ins n outs Surely that cant be right. If you intend to sell the club its no business of any other clubs until its done. If that's true, I find it a bizarre requirement just what i read, should have saved the link really I read this too Marki, a few days ago. But can’t remember where either. Could have been a media report though so quite possibly absolute bullocks. Edit: yeah, bullocks
  11. As far goes Pinsent yes, I moonlight as a recruiter for high level positions. Legal is one of the areas I dabble in along with Localization and Digital. I’ve pinched a few for them (Pinsent Masons) in the last 2 years. Especially when they were setting up a new Dublin office. I didn’t post all day yesterday as am on holidays in Italy right now but when I saw all the news yesterday evening I reached out to my guy and he was aware of it so I didn’t need to fish too much for the info. The takeover is a formality at this stage I’ve been told. Pinsent have a big team working on this, I assume Ashley does too with his lawyers so it’ll get trashed out in due course. The main thing now is for BZG to move funds into a holding account controlled by the law firm. He doesn’t know for sure as he’s not working directly on this but he says deals of this size are usually done in instalments over the course of a few weeks and if the club has been broken up into smaller pieces like it has, each transaction will be a tranch of parts of the club, until it’s all transferred over in full. Well one things for sure you’re definitely moving in corporate circles, with the ‘reaching out’ stuff Want to punch people at work when they say that. With you on this one. As well as stuff like ‘deep dive’ and ‘helicopter view’
  12. I’ll actually be a bit gutted if he goes. He was pretty reliable towards the end, good squad option.
  13. Aye, that name has reiver heritage IIRC.
  14. Why’s Downie banging on about which lawyers Ashley is using? It’s the Sheikh that’s set up this company, not Ashley.
  15. Ta Shearegol and Menace Matt - you were right.
  16. + Ashley tidying up the club through companies house in the last 24 hours + (possible) Sports Direct signs being removed for alleged cleaning + new seats in the director’s box
  17. They better not bin Rafa after all this
  18. Brilliant. Cheers for this. Ashley has been using Dentons so you’re no doubt right about these being the buyers lawyers You would definitely expect the buyer, not the seller, to set up the bidding company, so it would point more towards Pinsents acting for the buyer, yes. One thing to stress - we have often set up companies (only costs £90) purely to hold on to a name for our client. This suggests that something is definitely happening, and could happen imminently, but shouldn't be a guarantee that any deal is going to be completed. Great clarity, cheers mate.
  19. Def much more hopeful about this now
  20. Take the mobile bit out mate Cheers TM, bit of a Luddite when it comes to this stuff Not far behind you, I just remember Dave ranting about it once. I miss Dave. He could be back again soon by the look of things
