He's got a great leap on him TBF, but strangely mistimes it when he goes for headers, he's also pretty weak considering his frame. Still, Marv is tiny and I think maybe Pards might be a bit reluctant to give him his first league start against Mongville FC.

i dont remember that much of it to be honest, a few knocked to best's feet but not that much in the air. then again i had 'we wont win any games by keeping the ball, get it forward' sitting next to me so perhaps my memory is skewed. First half with the 4-4-2 we played more than normal, probably due to us not getting much joy in the middle of the park. Simpson and S.Taylor being the main culprits, in fairness to them, we didn't offer much off the ball and you could see them looking about a bit for another pass, before punting it aimlessly upfield.

Really hope Tiote is fit, Marveaux plays and they start with Delap and Whelan in the centre of a midfield 4. Would hopefully mean we would keep the ball down and boss the midfield (like we did at Villa).

Both times he has replaced Simpson there the whole team has lifted and that's no fluke. Would be surprised if it's anything other than unchanged from Wigan for Stoke. Yep. Suicide, Simpson punts it long the majority of the time and Obertan loses the ball a lot. We need to have a lot of possession in this game, playing these two won't help.
