Where did you get those stats mate? I use Guardian Chalboards usually, but swear half of it is made up!

I'm starting to love him. Can only admire his ability to become personally offended by every kick of a ball that doesn't end up in the net, and even sometimes when it does  MOTD commentator was raving about Ba's first, Lawro and Hansen said it was class, not wor Birtles. He was absolutely livid, spent about 5 minutes bleating on: "Where's the defending" "Why isn't Samba there marking him instead" "You can't let him turn in the box like that" "I'll say it again really poor marking there" The whole game he went on like this, so depressing, I nearly muted the cunt.

Gary Birtles what a fucking negative, boring wanker

Does the cross at Villa count as his assist, if so that's 2 in 2. Saw 60 minutes worht of highlights on Football First, he was an absolute beast. Long may it continue

Spurs at Home and Stoke away as well don't forget, barring Wigan at home (which we should win, certainly need to) the run from Spurs at home on the 17th October right through to December looks really tough. Will find out a lot about the squad and Pardew as a manager.

Where is that interview from? All sounds very promising! Would like him to learn English TBH. I know everyone is different, learns at different rates, more interested than others etc. But Marveaux's English is superb and although I've not heard it yet Cabaye has gone from not speaking a word of the queens in July/August time, to doing a full English interview in the middle of September

Seems strange to say it but Carroll had his least effective games for us against Samba and Haangeland, yet Best's given both of them a bit of a battering. He's a lot better in the air than I first realised. Yep. Yet I still read from a lot of people he does nowt except score goals. His all round game is very underrated IMO and to say he's just a poacher type is a lazy opinion.

Only saw football first, but he looked class. Held it up well, won loads of headers against Samba and should have had at least two. Made some quality runs and his quick feet, change of direction, skill etc was superb. Last two games him and Ba have started to look like a quality front pairing. Tin hat on here, but I am wondering at the minute where Hatem fits in? Ba and Besty should not be dropped just yet, both playing really well. For tactical reasons would probably start HBA against Spurs in a few weeks, think Ba will eventually be our first choice striker, but Leon is a good player who seems to be getting better.

Just seen that on the training pics, excellent news. If his knee doesn't flare up again, we really need to get him minutes in another reserve/friendly game, then hopefully get him on the pitch at some point against Wolves, he is also in the Italy U21 squad, so will at least be keeping his match fitness up. Could do with him starting against Spurs and being comfortable in the squad by the time the tough games in November/December come around.

Nobody does pretentious quite like wor Colocho

Really? Care to explain further? If anything, I think the bog standard 4-4-2 is going out of fashion, and 4-3-3/4-2-3-1/4-4-1-1 is more popular and arguably more effective.

 That's class!

From the little I've seen of him, this is how I'd like to see him used. Rich is also spot on though, if all goes to plan, the 3 that will play behind Ba or Best will all be capable of playing in all 3 positions and will be able to interchange at will. EDIT: Pretty much what everyone else has been saying. Really should read all posts first

Are those Daily Star quotes from the press conference then? Any mention of him being in the squad Saturday? More smiling and door related quotes

In the highlights on our official page, he doesn't receive a heavy tackle. He only features in three short clips though, so it's hardly anything to go by. His run in the second half to set up Lövenkrands proved that he's still got that quickness. Goes from jogging to full speed in a couple of steps, really impressive. Thanks. I feared he lost some pace. Because before his injury he was very quick with the ball on his feet and had a very good acceleration... Ah, and i heard he wanted to take the penalty on Tuesday but Lovenkrands didn't let him... it proves that he wants to score quickly and to take up with Newcastle fans again. Hope we'll see him on Saturday (behind Ba hopefully) ! You can see on the highlights he walks up to Lovenkrands and almost tries to take the ball from him little Pete was having none of it!

Marveaux on the right, man No, need to use his wand of a left, from the left. Came off injured against Arsenal didn't he? Shame.

Get in! milesstarforth Miles Starforth Peter Lovenkrands set to start after mid-week brace. #nufc 1 minute ago Favorite Retweet Reply Don't do that again, ever! I almost went and checked his twitter to confirm you're on the wind

Just the usual talk your player(s) up, run of the mill manager comments. Relax man, I keep telling myself this, might be totally wrong but I find it helps me keep my sanity.

I like watching them, I mean what football fan doesn't enjoy seeing the lieks of Aguero, Yaya, Johnson, Kompany, Hart, Nasri, Dzeko, Tevez and errr Gareth Barry But second team are they fuck, I don't even have a second team, and if I did it certainly wouldn't be Man City.

Just seen the highlights on NUFCTV. Just before he pings it out to Marv he has a few neat touches and goes forward with ease. His run to set up Lover in the second half is riduclous as well. Playing him in the false 9 position is the way forward. Got cover for both flanks now and we're short of decent strikers.
