30 words and 176 characters of made up jibberish. Highly impressive.

Palace have hardly done anything wrong and I'd fully expect us to behave the same way when someone comes in for the likes of Bruno, Isak and Gordon. Move on, go get Simikan or someone of that ilk

Horrific take, yes.

Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season
CheikBoom replied to InspectorCoarse's topic in Football
And likewise anyone with their head screwed would acknowledge we’ve typically started seasons slowly under Howe. 22/23 - 2 wins from the first 7 or 8 23/24 - 3 wins from the first 7 We aren’t quite firing and grinding out results. A promising sign. -
Lots of assumptions in this post.

Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season

Encouraging to hear Eddie say the relationship with Mitchell is going well. -
Appreciate it may go against the grain, but surely people aren't seeing this as a disaster window? GK Shift Dubravka and Greek and we could feasibly get Trafford as a long-term successor to Pope Defence We've were utterly honking at the back last season and often exposed with the lack of pace across the backline. We've addressed that with Kelly and (Hopefully) Guehi. Hall looks more settled and Livramento has been playing well. We'd have no hope of Top 4 if we didn't address the issues in defence. We got top 4 due to our defence. Midfield I know he's not a new signing, but Tonali back is a massive bonus. We've got depth across midfield as shown away to Bournemouth Forwards I get the clamour for a new RW and it's needed. However, over 100 goals across all competitions last season doesn't suggest its a major issue. I want RW upgraded ASAP, but it's not as pressing as people think. All our issues last season started at the back and we're rightly looking to address those. It seems like to address RW we'd have needed to sell one of our blue chip players. It's just not worth it currently. PSR is holding us back and remince of the Ashley era are a major drag. We've got players on big contracts, zero value and nobody wants them. All it takes is one miss on a transfer and PSR will be nibbling our backside again. If its just Guehi that comes in between now and Friday I'd be satisfied we've addressed a major issue last season, lost no big players & confident we can get European football.

The noises / reports from last night come from the Palace end? If so, that's encouraging.

Happy with this deal if it goes through. As much as I’d love a RW, CB is absolutely the priority position currently. The back line was done so many times last season due to the lack of pace. Whilst we’ve probably overpaid, we’ve got some fantastic players bought under market value in hindsight.

Take that tinfoil off your head & go get some fresh air

Didn't mind the result today. Bournemouth are a decent side and will cause plenty of problems to teams this season. That's a good point. Performance wasn't great and the game was largely transitions. 4 points and playing poorly? I'd gladly take that to start the season. Squad does need a refresh so we've got a big few days coming up. First half especially I thought the issues were tactical. 4-4-2 just wasn't working.

Last off the pitch there, and by quite a distance too. Applauding fans… waving goodbye?

Released yesterday 6pm. Not sure when it was recorded though.

Just read a tweet from a Man United fan saying Livramento, Hall, Gordon, Isak, Botman and Bruno weren't 'smart' buys. Everyone of those players would be sold now for more than we paid
-
Nobody thinks that? General consensus across the forum tends to be he's a very good CB but the price is over-inflated. He's at a great age & will likely play for us over multiple years. He's got pace at the back which we're in dire need of. By all accounts he's a leader, which we've lost a few of this summer.
-
That article doesn't match what Edwards has said? Literally says Palace are unlikely to let him leave.
-
Palace bidding for 2x CBs according to Romano this morning.
-
Not even remotely concerned & have absolute faith in the Club. We'll get sorted.
-
You've just made an assumption we haven't got anymore targets? We're negotiating to buy a player. It can hardly be helped if Palace keep leaking the news to the press.
-
Guehi is absolutely a required upgrade. We scored 100+ goals last season with a defence significantly poorer than the season prior.
-
This is nowt more than dick-waving from Parish. We're saying last offer & Palace trying to get more. It gets done eventually.
