  1. I did that where exactly Don't believe I've given Ashley credit anywhere in this thread (except that his leeching of Rangers is fucking great IMO) All I have said is that in my personal experience of watching/supporting Newcastle, I have seen it much worse in the past than it is now, simple as that.
  2. And yet we're "light-years" better than in the past? With 0 amount of "realistic" hope of winning anything? We have better players to watch, we don't have to stand in the rain or walk out of the ground through piss, so yes it is better these days. Oh I have hope we'll win something, same as I did back then, but that hope is unrealistic as it is for most fans of most clubs.
  3. If you watched NUFC in the 70's and 80's it most certainly is. I did and it isn't. HAHAHAHAHA Jesus wept Aye, he's right, it is SOOO much worse right now than standing in the rain with p*ss running down the steps watching Glen f***ing Keeley or John Bird at centre half. I was around for most of the 80's so I understand what you're saying, but what I don't understand is why you're arguing about who was worse. It's like arguing about which STD is worse or about which is the best way to die. Are you saying you would like to keep Ashley? But I'm not arguing about who is worst, just that I have seen it worse and so I do not get myself all distraught about today as I've been through way worse than this. In terms of Ashley, I'd much rather have an Arab state, or some such, owning us than Ashley but then again I'd rather have Ashley than a Vincent Tan or a Venky or a Ridsdale etc etc.
  4. If you watched NUFC in the 70's and 80's it most certainly is. I did and it isn't. HAHAHAHAHA We had hope you numpty, all we have now is mediocrity without hope of an end. We had no more realistic hope of winning something back then than we do now, other than the standard fans hope of winning the next game. We never contemplated we could win the league (although hopes were high when we splashed out and signed Beasant,Thorn etc. and that worked out predictably well). We have as much realistic hope now, as we did back then.
  5. If you watched NUFC in the 70's and 80's it most certainly is. I did and it isn't. HAHAHAHAHA Jesus wept Aye, he's right, it is SOOO much worse right now than standing in the rain with piss running down the steps watching Glen Fucking Keeley or John Bird at centre half.

  7. Every club in the North East (Falcons Rugby, Eagles Basketball, Durham Cricket) received fantastic sponsorship deal from the failed institution known as Northern Rock. Those mentioned in your reply didn;t get the money from NTL tho, that Shepherd organised. The several millions of money from NTL that bought shares off SJH, that NTL money ??
  8. First two sentences are basically untrue, the rest is your opinion, I agree Ashley is a c***, but it's not as f***ing s*** as it could be. There are long term season ticket holders jacking it in. How is "it's not as s*** as it could be" an argument at all! "Hey we are bottom of the league" "At least we aren't in league 1! Stay positive"!" I maybe should have said not as bad as I have actually seen it (indeed not as bad as it's been for just about the majority of my NUFC supporting days). I would add there are many long term season ticket holders who are NOT jacking it in. Some of whom stood in crowds of way less than 20,000, aye it was fucking so much better back then.
  9. First two sentences are basically untrue, the rest is your opinion, I agree Ashley is a cunt, but it's not as fucking shit as it could be.
  10. You mean like when we got outbid by Norwich and wouldn't cough up £140K for Steve Bruce (he wanted to come) and sold every player who was any good for washers, and we watched Graham Oates and Wayne Ferreday etc. etc. those times were better than now ? yes ? No. But neither are they like when Keegan or Sir Bobby were in charge, or even as good as when Sounness or Glen Roeder were here ffs. All I'm saying is the club doesn't have the profile it did even in the early 00's. So we're not as good as our highest point, I agree, but our current "low" is nothing near as low as we have been in the past (which goes back beyond 1992), in fact compared to some of those times it's bloody great. Ah class then. May as well praise ash. What total bollocks. It's not as bad as it was back then!!! f***ing hell: Where did I say you should praise Ashley, it is simply that now is absolutely 100% not the worst I have seen NUFC be, it's not even close. I understand you wouldn't see it that way, most Newcastle fans (including my sons) of the skyboy age group have no comprehension of what supporting a shit football team really is like.
  11. Erm, I take my NUFC experience back as far as I can recall it, and now is amongst the better of those times, not the best by any stretch, and most certainly not the best it could be, but it is way closer to the better than the worst.

  13. If you watched NUFC in the 70's and 80's it most certainly is. Just ignoring the 90s then? Did our history start in the 90's ? I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure I was watching Newcastle way before the 90's. We had a brief hiatus of decency in the 90's with KK and then subsequently later under SBR, we've been way shitter before those spells than we are now, it's not even close.

  16. There's fucking loads on here, mainly seen drooling over HBA in the thread for aforementioned complete and utter waste of talent.
  17. who cares Facts are important things. They sure are: Well SPFL rules only allow 3 from any one club, so the window licker is wide of the mark. That is in the SPFL rules, it took several journalists up north quite some time to find the cross border caveat.
  18. who cares Facts are important things.
  19. Thread title should be The Rangers FC, that is the current football club playing in Scottish second tier. Rangers FC died in 2012 remains in liquidation. (the immature genius who changed by posting name has made the same mistake)
  20. Of course it won't majority of matchgoers don't frequent message boards and basically "go to the match". NUFC today is light-years better than it has been in the past, even with Ashley's constraints.

  22. He doesn't really need to buy Rangers, he's positioning himself now to own all of the assets (and he already has the retail tied up) he can own everything of worth and let someone else run the troublesome football side whilst having to pay him for the privilege.
