Ah, ok ? I’ve heard a few talk about Zapata I think? Vickery etc.
-
Maybe. Maybe not. I’m just saying if they were, I don’t see why Atalanta wouldn’t sell to us like you suggested?
-
I don’t see why they wouldn’t sell?
-
Yeah, heaven help us. Let’s hope we’re never in Man City’s position of having to splash £100m on an attacking midfielder when they already have Foden, Silva, De Bruyne, Mahrez…
-
But why is that the managers fault?
-
26 shots in our favour to their 8, 11 shots on goal to their 4, 2 saves from our goalie to their 9, 12 corners to their one, but aye, it’s the managers fault.
-
A far better squad? I honestly don’t think we do. Puki, Aarons, Cantwell would easily make ours, as well as others, no doubt.
-
He didn’t though. As I said earlier, the points came purely from a fluke run of form from Willock.
-
A Conte/Pep/Klopp hybrid would struggle to get anything out of this squad man. No matter how well the likes of Potter are doing, I genuinely doubt whether they’d be able to do any better than Howe with us. The club is just rancid from top to bottom, and certainly throughout the squad. It’s going to take a hell of a long, expensive rebuild to turn this ship around.
-
Ah, gotcha. I don’t think he did get a tune out of the squad though. It was simply down solely to Willock scoring every game. The squad was and still is, shit.
-
Sorry- I thought you said his form last year was due to Bruce’s coaching? “Its a squad that finished 13th last season under a cretin of a manager. If he could get a tune out of them” And now youre saying he’s been ‘Bruced”? You can’t have it both ways. I’ll say it again- we only survived last year because of a never to be repeated stroke of luck that Willock hit record breaking goal scoring form. yes, Howe could improve Willock- he’s probably playing as bad as anyone in the squad at the moment. But he’ll never be a world beater.
-
You say Willocks form was down to Bruce last year? So why couldn’t he get a tune out of him at the start of the season again? He’s a bang average player who hit the purplest patch of form his career will ever see.
-
Willock had never played as well as that beforehand. And he looks nothing like it since. Either under Bruce (again, this season), or Howe.
-
That’s what the league position says, but we all know that the sole reason we survived last year was because of a never to be repeated patch of record goal scoring from Willock. Without that, we’d have been down and out long before with the squad we still have. And that wasn’t down to Bruce. It was simple good luck.

“Jesse Lingard is a player who has become synonymous with Manchester United, but it could have been so different. The 25-year-old is now a fixture of Jose Mourinho's squad and is a loud and proud Red Devils fan from birth.” https://www.joe.co.uk/amp/sport/jesse-lingard-reveals-the-simple-reason-he-chose-manchester-united-over-liverpool-174132

I remember him too. Is he that Sky Sports Newcastle whopper?

The majority of their current loan list are over 21? Of the 22 currently out on loan, 12 are over 21: Drinkwater, Bakayoko, Batshuayi, Clarke-Salter, Emerson, Miazga, Rahman, Baxter, Cumming, Familia-Castillo, Kenedy Sterling, etc.

Two. - Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time. - The maximum number of loans registrable in the same season is four, and, under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time. - Premier League clubs cannot loan to another Premier League club a player they have acquired in the same transfer window. - A Premier League club may loan not more than one of its goalkeepers to another Premier League club.
-
Interesting that clubs are going to be limited to six loans per year…really going to fuck with Chelsea’s stockpiling. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12520895/transfer-news-fifa-announces-radical-new-loan-plans-that-will-limit-clubs-to-six-loan-exits-per-season

Probably banging the auld cleaning/tea/tickets lady…
-
I’m sure Botman/Carlos etc would come for the cash…the problem being that it’s their clubs that don’t want to sell- not the players lack of interest. We’re already offering bigger paydays to the players.
-
It’s simply that he’s loaned until the point he’s a free agent and can go elsewhere for free/signing on fee? (I.e a 6 month loan).
-
He’s currently on £155k pw until end of 24/25 season.
-
World record £72m goalkeeper fee in 2018
-
Thought so. That looked awful behaviour at the time!
