  1. IF we get relegated, the EFL ‘profitability and sustainability’ regulations are stricter than the PL’s FFP ones, and it’ll be hard work to ‘buy our way out’, even with wealthy financial support. It’s pretty imperative we stay up imo.
  2. Depends on his red wine consumption.

  5. He’ll be lucky to get a new contract at Barca though? Even Xavi had to pay off half his Qatar contract himself as Barca couldn’t afford to do it via FFP. Messi obviously left, and several first team players have taken pay cuts.
  6. Like ‘go on holiday’. Think Bruce maybe clicked too much.
  7. Bet they wish they had Callum up front instead of Luuk.

    Sunderland

Storing up their games in hand so they can win the league. (FAC game against Mansfield on the Sunday)
  9. Because I think they won’t sign 6 players and certain positions need to be filled first? I’m sure the coats do want to sign all those positions, but not in one window.
  10. Not to a lot of people. We need other positions filled first. Especially given their form and fitness since leaving the PL.
  11. Or “let’s play!” ?‍♂️
  12. Three months notice. Gonna be tight to get working and sign players for January which suggests it probably won’t be him?
  13. Can’t wait to see who comes in, both as DoF and Sporting Director or CEO. This appointment will show us the path we want to take for years to come, as well as potential transfers.
  14. Lol. You knew fuck all. Get back to your garlic.
  15. Little ray of sunshine, aren’t you? Can’t buy any of the out of contract in the summer players, Tino responsible for the collapse in the 90’s, and now not backing our potential new manager with no reason whatsoever.
  16. (The Steves) against a wall to shoot?
  17. He’s got a fresh chance due to change of manager and Conte never having worked with him before, so a clean slate. If he doesn’t shape up and improve then yes, undoubtedly he’ll be out the door, but he’ll get a while to prove himself I’d have thought. Especially since there are reports of Conte not being allowed to spend as much as he wanted to in January.
  18. No way Ali will be leaving now he’s been given a fresh chance under Conte. Under Nuno I’d have said it would be a good chance of getting him, at least on loan.
  19. Via a record breaking run of goal scoring form from Willock who looks far from replicating that feat. Without him we’d have sunk like a stone. Howe has got his work cut out imo to get form back for more than a few of our players.
  20. Yeah, of course he would be, if he was about 5th or 6th along the line. I just think we need other positions desperately filled first and won’t be buying 5 or 6 this January.
  21. Most managers are already getting good wages. We could obviously better that, but then provide next to zero chance of them winning a major trophy. Plus our infrastructure (training facility, medical facility, etc etc) is shit, we have zero other important staff (CEO, DoF etc) and our squad needs a total overhaul which will take more than a few transfer windows. Throwing money at it in this instance isn’t as easy as you suggest.
  22. In my opinion, despite our owners wealth, there’s no chance we’ll be going out and buying a whole new team in January. Four players, I reckon (based on nothing, admittedly). Plus we’ll be looking at players out of contract in the summer. Coutinho is too similar to the likes of ASM at the current time. We need to be replacing and upgrading the Shelveys, Ritchies and Clarks of the squad to try and alleviate our relegation worries. Strong, influential, non injury prone, consistent and reliable players. Brozovic, Kessie, Kamara, Sule etc. Barca are desperate to get Coutinho off the wage bill…and it’s not just because they’re broke right now, but because he’s been extremely poor the last few years.
