Yeah, maybe. Guess we’ll see. Just can’t see us signing him in a wage anywhere near that without first upping several other players wages. An 18 year old with 44 senior appearances and 2 international appearances just couldn’t be our highest earner without other more senior (and currently better) players feeling the disparity negatively.

“Madrid will pay a fixed price of €35million plus another €25m in achievable variables, which vary in difficulty and relate to Endrick’s development both while still in Brazil and after moving to Europe. They would pay a maximum of €60million for him if these are all satisfied. It has been rumoured that Endrick will start with a salary of €2million per season, although sources with knowledge of the negotiations, who need to keep their anonymity to protect their positions, have told The Athletic the wages will be higher than that but refused to give specific figures.” https://theathletic.com/4066362/2023/01/09/endrick-real-madrid/?amp=1 Endrick is on nowhere near £50kpw, let alone £150kpw.

Agreed that he’s a talent. But nowhere worth that wage. Especially when it’s more than several important first team players in the squad (can’t see him coming in as a starter).

“The 18-year-old Germany international is thought to have discussed a deal worth over £150,000 a week to join Newcastle on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season.” aye…righto. ?
-
Obviously. But not to get a cheap laugh from casual racism. FA thought it was worthy of a ban and £50k fine also.

I keep forgetting that Chelsea have also signed Nkunku for the summer too.

Wasn’t all this done in Sept/October? https://theathletic.com/3671543/2022/10/11/christopher-vivell-chelsea-sporting-director-search/ from 10th Oct.

Doubt the price would be more than Maddison, with coming from the Dutch league and not being a full international? Gakpo was ‘only’ £35m.

Seems a bit of a prick though- the ‘joke’ at the airport about Chinese people for one example.

Besiktas want to cancel Dele Alli’s loan, but are contractually obliged to pay his agreed wages, according to Sky.
-
Have we? I didn’t have us down as spending £300m+ on signings.

Doesn’t stadium standing areas have to be ‘one for one’ in relation to replacing seating, due to safety? Thought I’d read it somewhere? So the potential attendance wouldn’t be affected at all should the current stadium go to standing areas.

Good article from a short while back about the situation: https://theathletic.com/3993902/2022/12/13/newcastle-isak-saint-maximin-wilson/?amp=1

“Django. The ‘J’ is silent”? ? Never heard of him. Any good?

Klinsmann being the only non-US manager in the last near 30 years… (Milutinović left in 1995).

Chris Wood? ???

Only wants to go to certain clubs, allegedly: “BILD learned two clear wishes from his environment: A winter transfer is now only conceivable if it were really one of the four dream clubs where the Frenchman also sees himself in the long term: Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Paris St. Germain. On the other hand, the clubs, which are also highly interested, such as Newcastle United and Aston Villa can save their offers.” https://m.bild.de/sport/fussball/borussia-moenchengladbach/wende-verzichtet-borussia-moenchengladbach-auf-die-thuram-millionen-82399840.bildMobile.html?t_ref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bild.de%2Fsport%2Ffussball%2Fborussia-moenchengladbach%2Fwende-verzichtet-borussia-moenchengladbach-auf-die-thuram-millionen-82399840.bild.html edit- also: https://www.newcastleworld.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/bundesliga-star-snub-newcastle-united-offer-bayern-munich-manchester-united-interest-3977869

Wonder if the fans will come in again to fit the extra seats for the payment of a free burger, should they ever expand?
-
Yep, renewed last Sept on £250kpw until 2028. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11180965/amp/Reece-James-set-commit-Chelsea-five-year-deal.html

No chance Bellingham will go to Liverpool this window, imo.

Yep, and that £100m training ground and academy was initiated by the current owners father, as I alluded to previously. ‘Top’ merely carried on with the plan. I highly doubt that they would’ve been the beneficiaries of it should they be thinking about the same plans today.

Leicester City owner and chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha (Known as ‘Top’) took over when his father was killed in the helicopter crash, in 2018. I don’t think he holds the same love for the club as his dad did, and I also don’t think he knows how to run the club correctly (isn’t particularly enamoured with how much it costs, and how much he has to put in etc). Hence the rumours about wanting to sell up, and not giving Rogers any cash to spend last summer. Leicester fans don’t seem too keen on him and seem to think he’s holding them back because of the above.
