Most of those teams play with 1 striker though and they don't have the possibility of losing both their strikers for a month of the season either.

About Lovenkrands i don't know why people keep mentioning him as a striker, everytime he played he was on the left..... The likes of Marveaux, Sammy and even Obertan or Amalfitano more than replace him. I'm not concerned about that at all. We should have replaced Best as our 3rd choice striker, upgraded on Simpson and some competition for Saylor. Which we have failed to do and it's frustrating but at the end of the day we still have the team that finished 5th last season and added some quality as well as some kids showing promise it's not really anything to get majorly concerned over i'm still confident of a good season. It's just frustrating because if we are able to got those players then we could have really attacked all the competitions we were in.

I'd be f*cking livid in Pardew's position tbh.

Perch isn't much better than Simpson in a attacking sense IMO but the key area where he is comfortably better is bringing the ball out from the back and link up with others to relief pressure from the defence. I would personally prefer Perch but i don't think Pards agrees.

You know we'll (hopefully) have about 20 more games than last year? I think some people have forgot that, the squad was down to the bare bones at times last season and now we have European Football to contend with. It's obvious the squad is not big enough.

If we play 4-3-3 then Simpson's weaknesses won't be as obvious as day imo. Thing is we won't, Pardew has made that quite clear. Unless injuries occur of course. Just so disappointing that we had the opportunity to buy a RB who could help in attack but for another year we are stuck with Simpson. No offense to the lad, he's a decent defender but he offers nothing going forward and it could have so easily been fixed. Oh well.

I agree with you tbh. Better goalscorer, better dribbler, better defender. The only area Modric massively wins is passing and playmaking. And Dembele ain't too shabby in those areas either, top signing if it turns out to be true.

Modric replacement, that's the exact role he's been fulfilling at Fulham for a while now and he's great at it. Top player.

Dembele for 15m will prove to be an absolute bargain, starting to get worried about Spurs are going to do with this money could really seem them coming out of it smelling of roses.

Arsenal are stronger in a creative sense, but much much weaker in a goalscoring sense so no they are not. Liverpool are stronger IMO, not enough to scare me or anything but stronger none the less.... Allen and Sahin are obvious upgrades on Adam and Henderson, as for Borini i don't know if he's better than Kuyt or Bellamy so they might have got worse there. So it's not a massive improvement but an improvement none the less. As for Tottenham, they are obviously weaker currently but if they go out and get the likes of Lloris in among others then that will all change. It's really of case of taking stock when the deadline closes, as it could all be very different. I'm confident what ever happens we will up there anyway as long as we don't get too many injuries.

Considering Milan have apparently signed Bojan on loan today i doubt they will buy any more forwards.
