Average age of City's team is high and a lot of players are starting to get on, but a lot of them are also hitting/in their prime and tbh not adding much to their first team could be more productive than a load of new big money signings. They've all played together bar Sterling, so it's only 1 player to integrate and both physically and mentally they look spot on at the moment. The way they smashed Chelsea on the weekend was just astounding.

I can go with that, but when you're having to build a case to defend his potential it undermines the statement of "This lad is the most exciting kid to come through the academy that I can remember". With Carroll and most recently Aarons, there's no need to make any excuses for them. They just looked/look like they're gonna make it.

Carroll had scored a few goals in the Premiership before getting his real chance in the Championship and with his size especially he was built for the PL. Armstrong is obviously much smaller but when he's came on for us has looked overawed and scared to pick up the ball for me, let alone take someone on. AC on the other hand dived straight in, going up against big defenders and really putting himself about. Buffon was even coming out singing his praises. Also despite being the same age Aarons' appears totally unfazed and is happy to take someone on and put himself about in the game and has shown real talent when playing in the league. I can't see why you'd regard him as the most exciting kid to come out of the academy in recent years when he's done absolutely nothing in the 2-15 minutes he's been given to try and make a mark on the game and performed no better than Adam Campbell did for us when he was getting the run-out's here and there. I'm not saying he's going to fail and be released or owt, but at this moment in time he looks nowhere being a decent PL player and only time will tell what happens with him - It's a total 50-50 how he'll turn out at the moment IMO.

Aye, it's him. As a Dane I've been watching him a lot and he is very talented. He is strong, technical with a very good passing range and extremely good in the air. Has scored a fair amount of headers from set penises as well. He has captained all the Danish youth national teams and I've always wondered why he hasn't been picked up by some of the bigger teams in Germany. He might lack some pace but isn't Willo-slow. Would be a good CB partner for Mbemba imo. I'd still prefer Abdennour though. Rather have Ura Ljaer Kantz personally, heard he's a top prospect.

Doubt it, SM has been loving Moussa recently in interviews and phone ins. We know that counts for little. Can't see Thauvin being brought in as a squad player so, assuming we aren't going 4-4-2, he'll play wide right of a 3 in a 4-2-3-1 and I don't think Moussa would cut it in the two. fwiw I do see Wijnaldum dropping into the two when he's up to speed with the premiership and De Jong is fit. Could see Sissoko taking the advanced CM spot through the middle and Wijnaldum dropping in with Anita. Thauvin wide right, Aarons wife left when he loses patience with Obertan. Could be very effective. We should probably play Aarons first, before we start giving his wife games.

Can't say I'm happy about this. Give Cabella a chance when fit and use him in a system that will suit him under coaches who know what they're doing. By most accounts Thauvin has had a very poor past 2-3 seasons so I'm not sure why on earth this makes him worth a 12m fee. Seems to me we're paying money for a player we don't really need and is no better than what we already have.
