There shouldn't be a middle ground, but the fuckers have somehow managed to find one, with the introduction of a new bit where we fatally undermine him for a week before deciding to let him stay
-
Looks like Ashley is disancing himself from this clusterfuck so that Charnley will be the one to take the fall if/when it all goes tits up. His only real chance of saving his job at this stage would appear to be making an inspiring appointment that keeps us up. No, I'm not confident either.
-
I'm reluctant to even engage with the Benitez rumours but brief moments of hope in amongst the soul crushing disappointment are about all we have left, so what the hell... A manager of that standing could completely change the mindset of the club, demand higher standards throughout and possibly even get Ashley properly engaged and interested, there would be genuine cause for optimism for the first time in years...
-
The only really surprising thing is that people are still surprised at how much of a clusterfuck these incompetent twats can make of absolutely anything. They genuinely have no idea what they're doing, and why would they, none of them are even remotely qualified to be running a Premier League football club.
-
Problem is there's no margin for error any more - winnable games are great in theory but you're exceptionally vulnerable to something like a daft sending off (Colo in the last derby for instance) or a game where everything clicks for the opposition, like the mackems beating Man Utd.
-
I hope he's got that Schoenmaker bloke absolutely beasting the fuckers.
-
Decent manager takes us from 100% certain to 50/50 I reckon, still has the same shite to work with and not much time.
-
Spot on. I genuinely think the main reason Charnley doesn't want to sack McClaren is that he has no idea how to go about recruiting a replacement. Same reason it was McClaren or no-one last summer, he's a mate of Carr so our clueless Chairman didn't actually have to do anything proactive. He's so far out of his depth it's beyond embarrassing.
-
Damning stuff from Douglas, Charnley really is an utterly inept muppet http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-not-sacked-steve-mcclaren-11005627?
-
If I was McClaren I would be gagging for the sack now like - either he has to go in tomorrow and try and work with the set of absolute cunts who clearly ignore everything he says or gets to stay at home in his pants and wait for his million quid pay-off to arrive. Know which I would prefer.
-
We could now find ourselves in a situation where he stays by default as they can't find anyone else to take over and has therefore lost any last shred of credibility he might have had as absolutely everyone knows they were deperate to bin him.
-
I'm not gannin on me own, I'm the Chairman ffs, Bob you're coming along as well, we can stop at Costa while we're there
-
Don't think that tells us anything we didn't already know, Carr and Charnley's futures are now pretty much tied to McClaren so if he goes they can't be far behind. All comes down to Ashley I reckon.
-
It's true like, for a billionaire businessman he seems to have smallest contacts book imaginable.
-
It'll be the usual farce - work our way down the list until we finally hit upon someone desperate enough to take it. Ashley hasn't appointed a single manager who would've had other options.
-
Exactly right, it's why they keep doing stupid fucking things like giving out 8 year contracts and putting the manager on the board. Never occurs to them there's a reason no other football club in the history of the game has done this shit, they just think they're so fucking clever. The whole club is infuriating, embarrassing and depressing in equal measure.
-
Him getting sacked is odds on with most bookies now, was as long as 5/1 just this morning http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/next-manager-to-leave-post Hopefully they have some inside info, any other club and he would be gone for sure, but with the incompetent fuckwits running the show at nufc there's just no way of knowing.
-
This fat little cunt doesn't get anywhere near enough stick, would be out of his depth as a shift manager at McDonald's. If the gormless looking twat handed me my takeaway I would checking the order before I let him leave. Needs a massive kicking as an absolute minimum for his part in the current shambles.
-
I used to think Birtles hated us, but I've heard him commentating on other teams' games and realised he just hates life. And probably himself. Massive alcoholic I reckon.
-
Said if before and it still stands, if McClaren stays, we're down. New manager and there's hope, depending on who it is of course. If we get Moyes I would give him as good as 50/50 on keeping us up.
-
Dier should be off there
-
There's just no explaining that. Riviere was absolutely terrible when he came on at Stoke.
-
Seriously, this would be hilarious if it was happening to any other club. It's like we're being run by a gang of touchy 13 year old girls.
-
Aye, statement basically confirms there's zero chance of him being sacked even if we get hammered again. Ffs
