  1. Yeh, if we had qualified for the Champions League we would have added more players. After the elimination is when the rot began to set in.
  2. Right thats it.... http://www.macrobusiness.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/panic-button.jpeg
  3. That's true but still plenty of time to have dialogue with Lille, that combined with the fact that most of us are impatient twats.
  4. To enhance the negative feelings a few are saying Chelsea have renewed their intrest and will meet Lille's asking price. As mentioned previously if were using Debuchy's desire to join us as a bargaining chip then thats a very risky tactic, as is the assumption he's is simply gonna wait around for us and not consider going elsewhere.

Really, suprised we would adopt such an approach Of course we would. It's brought us so much success this summer so far. I know that man..attempt at sarcasm obviously not my best.

  7. The Cabaye factor is what's keeping the deal alive imo
  8. Our previous signings (last seasons) were in the main opportunistic and with a slant that gave us the edge. A clause, a few that did not entail fees, and chancing in on players that had been frozen out (Santon, Obertan). It was only really Cisse we had to put a large sum in for and lets be honest, must of us were suprised we had spent that much on a player. Be nice to think we are capable of emulating that transfer with other players on our wishlist. Our policy has a lot of balls, and its an admirable way of business, but we need to find some compromisation somewhere this season, now we are chasing players who carry fees. No clauses or whatever. Everyone knows Debuchy is a quality player in his prime, and we have offered what? Just shy of 4million. We'll get nowhere in the market imo if we continue to attempt to rip people off.
  9. Clearly no-one has a f***kin clue whats happening.
  10. Seen it, posted it further up. Not what we were hoping for obviously.
  11. It's a journalist from L'Equipe, not just someone they dragged off the street with a French accent. Ahh, never knew. Mind you L'Equipe were the ones originally stating it was practically a done deal, and that was over a week ago, so what do they know.
  12. Of course that bloke talking in the vid could be anyone. Fact is they have purchased a new right back and Lille might buckle soon if Debuchy's mood continues to decline.
  13. Deadline day arrival anyone?
  14. http://tyneandwear.sky.com/newcastleunited/video/28145 ... dunno who the guy talking on that video is, but judging by that it's not as close as we would hope.
  15. Did Sky actually state that? I looked on twitter earlier and it said something like 'big transfer news regarding Newcastle coming up' ... and i'v since heard f**k all.
  16. And quickly claiming he was right all along. He was absolute quality that first season, fell apart in the second along with the rest of the team. MacDonald just plain hated him.
  17. The Ben Arfa one was slightly different for me as we were fresh from promotion and it came across as a pleasent suprise that he came. With this one their has been massive anticipation ever since Pardew has dropped that hint on the radio. It's building to the point that if we fail to get him it will be seen as a sizeable blow, given the sheer length of the pursuit.
  18. Good point, this does seem to becoming rather repetitive. Hopefully though with an actual discussion between player and manager, this might finally begin to move, one way or the other.
  19. He seems adamant on leaving, next week we'll have an abundantly clearer picture on what the f**k is going on.
  20. Joined early plenty of time to tinker. Cisse a pricey deal this time like.
  21. Possibly. Suppose with all his best players going he's entitled to it.
  22. Doing my piece in now this tbh. Garcia obviously doing everything in his power to keep him, despite what he's coming out with to the press. Probably thinking the longer we draw out a search for a replacement increases the chance the player may change his mind.
  23. Yeh, I think he's one Abramovich wants to sign as they were close to getting him last season under Villas Boas. If he goes to Chelsea then its less competition to worry about I suppose. He's looked decent everytime I'v seen him play, granted not frequently.
  24. The optimist in me translates it as Chelsea might have looked at Debuchy but for some reason can't have him i.e he's on his way to us (eventually). Therefore they moved to Azpilicueta. He is good I agree, we've been linked with him aswell last few days.
  25. Chelsea close to signing Azpilicueta apparently. Taking that as a positive.
