  1. Boils down to these 'showdown talks' , dying to see him at the club.
  2. No hint of Debuchy bid cooling down, more a provocative reminder to Santon of our major intrest in him.
  3. Calciomercato. Probably a poor mans L'Equipe.
  4. Quotes are off Italian press.
  5. Pardew has probably suggested he might try him at RB over the course of the season, not week in week out. He was making that left back role his own towards the end of the previous campaign, the managment will have noticed it, and how his confidence grew. Not gonna jump to conclusions over a few comments, would be a huge kick in the teeth if we dont sign Debuchy up.
  6. Given the amout of games that could be heading our way this season, Debuchy (fingers crossed) isn't going to play every game. Would be no suprise if Pardew stuck Santon at RB for a few games and put Ferguson or R.Taylor at left back, or someone else brought in. Comments could be translated as Pardew's desire to get rid of what he considers deadwood and have quality players in every position.
  7. I seem to remember Beardsley scoring from a mile out against Norwich? Could have dreamt it like. Anyway, personal faves are Nobby (Leeds Away) , Shearer v Everton, Emre V Reading.

Might be missing something, but how did we sell players left right and centre last year? Young went because Man United wanted him. Downing went because he's a weaselesque rat-faced c***. Beyond that? Ahh ok, your right. I'll rephrase it then. Selling key players.
  10. Hope we get him, gut feeling tells me were gonna lose out though. He's worth every bit of what Lille are valuing him at imo

They have waited a season to long to try and get Agbonlahor in I reckon. If he was ever going to leave Villa then the last campaign would be have been the one. Selling players left right and centre and with one of the most uninspirational managers their likely to have for some time. They have a promising manager in now and that muppet Darren Bent has been harping on about how he's looking forward to pairing up with this season under Lambert. Would not suprise me if they go for somone like Kevin Doyle or Holt.
  12. Capello gotta be a good shout .
  13. Think Redknapp did a good job at Spurs, but a list of his expenditure would be intresting. He's always had a very generous budget there. If were going to be harsh then the top 4 should be expected. That said, did well to get in that spot twice given the apparent strength of the other sides. Knocking AC out the champions league is not easy either.

He has but never a second yellow which I guess is what you're probably alluding to. He does walk that tightrope very well. Somewhat recklessly, but very well Oh yeah, that ludicrous one against Stevenage in the Cup. Ridiculous decision that was, tackle was text book.
  15. Aye, remember that. Such incidents lead to major questions about a football brain and indeed desire. If you care you simply dont do that. Looked like he cared when he made it 1-1 later in the game. By celebrating? Would have been odd if he didnt. As I mentioned in a previous post and also it's been said by several others, no one denies Martins was a gifted player, some of his goals defied belief, but it's also fairly clear he was not as focused as he could have been in that famed season. If you think he was really that bothered when we went down then your kidding yourself ...... imo. Trying to deviate the blame away from himself did him no favours for me.
  16. Seems to know his shit the lad who wrote them Zonal Marking articles. I wonder if he does anything else but watch football. Reminds me a bit of Marcotti, seems to forget footballers are actually humans.

Would not suprise me at all if Wireside = David Meyler. Both seem to carry the same child like intelligence when it comes to talking about their rival club.

It is classic. What they fail to recognise is how much we have overtook them. Sure they got Coldplay & The Boss playing at SOL in the summer but we got BA, HBA, Cabs, Colo, Krul, Cisse & the gang playing for NUFC. Yeh thats true, but we dont need to overtake them as they have never been in front. Even in the seasons they mention, the first one we were the crisis club of world football, a laughing stock, and they just to say survived whilst we went down. Yet they have that down as success? The post match interview with Quinn and Sabragia was cringeworthy. The second when we were down they finished 14th I think? They had to chance then to stamp some sort of authority on the region but as ever, failed. The third season in this ever impressive display of dominance was down to us throwing away a 3 goal lead on the last day. To claim bragging rights from such feeble achievments is embarrasing but wholly predictable.

  20. Well that's a fair point I guess about his previous seasons with us, just felt he vanished when we really really needed him. Obviously he was in plentiful company, I'm not singling him out here.
  21. Attitude appaling during relegation season (not alone I know), suspicions of faking injury, and in an interview whilst a Brum player, inexplicably claimed he and the other players could do nothing to prevent us going down. Raw ability never in question, but when the going got tough he didn't want to know.
  22. If thats a fake even better, hilarious the uproar its caused.

Off RTG 'Prior to this season when was the last time they had finished above us? I love that, the secret weapon that the mackems bring out. No mention the fact they were only just above us twice and the other time we were in another division. Such dominance.
  24. The game in the championship was quite similar aswell. One chance one goal. What the hell are you supposed to do if you cant get the ball. They harp on about dominating games but its the dullest form of it in football.
  25. He did. No doubt about it Martinez got them playing the attractive stuff, had some end product to go with it aswell. Paulo Sousa also took the passing game very seriously and just recently Brendan Rodgers seems to taking all the credit for it, as if it has been him who has instilled it. Rodgers has taken it to the extreme imo, when they played us at the Liberty is was laughable how they went about it.
