West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll
NUFC_Chris replied to Pilko's topic in Football
I just can't see Liverpool selling or even loaning him to us. I'd think they'd rather he went to West Ham but the player won't leave if he doesn't agree it, which appears to be the issue. I can see him staying at Liverpool & fighting for his place, probably then available for a lesser fee in January. -
@NUFCOfficial just tweeted a reply to someone saying kit released 2nd week in August.

Debuchy, adieu Inter Cabaye unveils its future It is shortly agreement between Lille and Newcastle for the transfer of Mathieu Debuchy. The French full-back, which was also followed by Inter, will play in the Premier League following the footsteps of former companion to Lille Yohan Cabaye, spent last year more to Magpies. The same confess Cabaye the intentions of his friend: "Mathieu has taken a hard choice to leave Lille, but has now decided. Now I hope that Newcastle closes quickly with your purchase. I talked with him two days ago and I said he is eager to join us. I'm waiting here, because it is a great friend and can become a very important player for our team, "the words of the midfielder. Despite these statements, the French press insists that Newcastle has pulled back and the back there is only Inter. But considering the confessions of Cabaye, which shows the will of the individual concerned, and the fact that Inter now transpires unwillingness to invest 7 million of Debuchy, publications across the Alps lose consistency and reliability. http://www.fcinternews.it/?action=read&idnotizia=87616

Interesting, that's the first time I've seen it reported that a fee has been agreed.
-
Even if he's coming, holding your breath until Saturday is not advisable.
-
Pardew says 1 hopefully 2 in by Saturday, I reckon one of them will be Curtis Good, not holding my breath re Debuchy.

Is he coming to the UK by boat?

What's GAA stand for?

Carroll knew he was going to be earning triple what he was on here before a fee was agreed with Liverpoool, so I'm sure it happens.

I'm inclined to believe the Journal reports, they were pretty sure something was happening last week & have stuck to that tune. Perhaps been delayed for some reason but hopefully they're right this time & it will be sorted next week.

Good read that, batted off a few loaded questions easily.

Is he set on us? If we undervalue him, then surely wages will be a problem? If any other club valued him as highly as LOSC then already taking this long is a funny way to show it. That suggests to me, that there is not. Players in the French league generally earn a lot less & I think should we sign him he would be on wages comparable to Cabaye, which would be about right and a massive increase on what he is most likely earning now. I just meant undervalue him in terms of what we are willing to pay for a signing on fee.

Cabaye has clearly sold the club to him, he seems set on us. I just wish we would do the necessary. His wages won't be the problem, it's the fee that LOSC value him at that is the sticking point. MA/DL undervalue him imo, with Lille over-valuing him, we need to find some middle ground quickly or another club WILL come in and meet Lille's demands.
