    Alan Pardew

Still think all of this could've been avoided with more investment in the summer (and I'm not talking silly money).
  2. Don't fancy this one either. Will be an absolute scrap, and the way our defence has been recently...

    Thcum 9-1 Fcukin comedy gold.
  4. I suppose this is why they call themselves a technology of 'digital' finance company.
  5. I reckon Ryder had been on the drink before that interview. I don't doubt he really cares about the club, and to be honest talksport are a bunch of pretentious wankers.
  6. Since religion's involved in the debate why don't we see some figures on how many lives have been ruined by that? Haha. Erm. 100 billion?
  7. Apparently they've got a 98% approval rating with their customers, more than any bank. Perhaps with them expanding into business loans and other services their brand won't be looked upon so negatively in the future. It's typical of Newcastle to get all this unwanted attention/media coverage. Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather we were sponsored by a blue chip electronics company, or a charity, but can we really afford to be picky given the current financial climate??
  8. Had a browse on some Blackpool forums to see if they were talking about this, some of them seem very happy with Wonga, one even saying it's the best sponsor they've ever had in terms of fan interaction. http://fansonline.net/blackpool/mb/view.php?id=1231825
  9. He also said it was the biggest commercial deal in the clubs history.
  10. Why would they ring the bloody Muslim council and ask them what they thought of payday loans unless they were blatantly s*** stirring? I'm not thrilled with the sponsor and don't agree with the business model but we are copping way more than we should be, more than the Football League, Hearts & Blackpool combined.
  11. I do think we are copping too much flack for this in the nationals. The Independent are running a story tomorrow re the British Muslim council advising our Muslim players not to wear the new sponsor.
  12. I hope it doesn't include naming rights.
  13. Why is it absolutely everything Ashley does is controversial? Can't he just for ONCE do something that doesn't wind up or insult the fans.
  14. Yeah rumours abounding it could be announced today.
  15. Personally not believing this. Why ditch Virgin at £10m a year, for Wonga at £8m including naming rights? Apparently Wonga's net worth is only £46m, so I seriously doubt they'd have the finances to pay us anything near what Virgin were offering. It just doesn't add up. I think we're most likely in talks with someone else and the Telegraph are wide of the mark. Or is it just a nicely timed article just before an important home game in an attempt to rock the boat?
  16. Bordeaux are back in Europe for the first time since reaching the Champions League quarter-finals in 2009-10, and Gillot has made the Europa League a priority this season. "We can't put the same level of effort into the league and Europe. It's impossible to play on a Thursday and then again on a Sunday afternoon," Gillot said after watching his side squander the lead in the 2-2 draw against Ajaccio that followed a 4-0 European win against Club Brugge. "Physically, it's not possible. That is why we're choosing to put all our efforts into Europe, so we can expect to drop points in the league in the coming weeks."
  17. This will be a tough game, they've also adopted the opposite approach to us. They are focusing on the Europa League ahead of Ligue 1.
  18. Naaa won't be Sports Direct.
  19. Got to be a decent blue chip sponsor... surely?
  20. Someone must have an idea who it's going to be, these things are rarely kept schtum in my experience.
  21. Has to mean someone has taken up both the naming and kit sponsorship deals. Hopefully it's not someone totally w@nk and is "blue chip" as Decka stated they were after initially.
  22. It's not going to be sports direct, he could have taken that option at the start of the season if he wanted to.
