Is he set on us? If we undervalue him, then surely wages will be a problem? If any other club valued him as highly as LOSC then already taking this long is a funny way to show it. That suggests to me, that there is not. Players in the French league generally earn a lot less & I think should we sign him he would be on wages comparable to Cabaye, which would be about right and a massive increase on what he is most likely earning now. I just meant undervalue him in terms of what we are willing to pay for a signing on fee.

Cabaye has clearly sold the club to him, he seems set on us. I just wish we would do the necessary. His wages won't be the problem, it's the fee that LOSC value him at that is the sticking point. MA/DL undervalue him imo, with Lille over-valuing him, we need to find some middle ground quickly or another club WILL come in and meet Lille's demands.

They say he's worth £7m? We offered what ... 3.1? I'd suggest a ball park figure of at least £5m.

Something that they would have at least taken seriously, without being laughed off the negotiating table.

We would have to be in pole position to sign him. Out of the 3 I don't think it's arrogant to say we are the biggest club & we do have European football. Various media report today that Newcastle United is going to release another bid on Douglas Franco Teixeira. The coverage varies somewhat but it would be an amount between 4 and 4.5 million. I think this will drag on for at least a few weeks more, which is frustrating.

Of the two (Amalfitano & Bigi) from the 2 pre season games Bigi is the one who stood out. Think Amalfitano has been played out of position on the right flank, think he's more a centre mid.

Probably us telling them to go on strike to get the price down. I reckon Mike & Decka would try any underhand tactic to drive the price down. Mind you, so long as we get the signing over the line am I really bothered?

We seem to have a bit of a nasty habit of players going on strike to force moves through. Ben Arfa, Maiga, & now Debuchy.

Went in to the club shop at SJP today to check out the training gear. I would have bought one of the woven jacket tops but walked out with nothing purely due to the Sports Direct patches. They didn't look like they would come off without damaging it. There was also a family there complaining about the SportsDirect branding being on everything.

Think this is more likely Mike & Derek's sense of humour. I personally wouldn't want him back, & I very much doubt he would want to come back cap in hand, would be very embarrassing for both him and Liverpool.

Piss take offer imo.

The new one is basically the same as the 2005/07 one. I like it though. Opinion is pretty much always split.
