I do think we are copping too much flack for this in the nationals. The Independent are running a story tomorrow re the British Muslim council advising our Muslim players not to wear the new sponsor.
-
I hope it doesn't include naming rights.
-
Why is it absolutely everything Ashley does is controversial? Can't he just for ONCE do something that doesn't wind up or insult the fans.
-
Yeah rumours abounding it could be announced today.
-
Personally not believing this. Why ditch Virgin at £10m a year, for Wonga at £8m including naming rights? Apparently Wonga's net worth is only £46m, so I seriously doubt they'd have the finances to pay us anything near what Virgin were offering. It just doesn't add up. I think we're most likely in talks with someone else and the Telegraph are wide of the mark. Or is it just a nicely timed article just before an important home game in an attempt to rock the boat?

Bordeaux are back in Europe for the first time since reaching the Champions League quarter-finals in 2009-10, and Gillot has made the Europa League a priority this season. "We can't put the same level of effort into the league and Europe. It's impossible to play on a Thursday and then again on a Sunday afternoon," Gillot said after watching his side squander the lead in the 2-2 draw against Ajaccio that followed a 4-0 European win against Club Brugge. "Physically, it's not possible. That is why we're choosing to put all our efforts into Europe, so we can expect to drop points in the league in the coming weeks." -

This will be a tough game, they've also adopted the opposite approach to us. They are focusing on the Europa League ahead of Ligue 1. -
Naaa won't be Sports Direct.
-
Got to be a decent blue chip sponsor... surely?
-
Someone must have an idea who it's going to be, these things are rarely kept schtum in my experience.
-
Has to mean someone has taken up both the naming and kit sponsorship deals. Hopefully it's not someone totally w@nk and is "blue chip" as Decka stated they were after initially.
-
It's not going to be sports direct, he could have taken that option at the start of the season if he wanted to.
-
Will he be on the touchline today?

Ba's injured?? Anyone know what it is/how bad it is etc? -
London's like being in another country for me, you could be in any major European city as there's that many foreign voices. I even inadvertently started the looking the wrong way when crossing the road, my subconscious thought I was abroad.
-
Snap, I can't stand London. Objective? Maybe not but I certainly wouldn't want to live there.

You were actually going to essentially pay a tenner to watch this? No but my stepdad would when the bill comes through. -
I've been watching the ESPN coverage again and Frank LeBoef was giving him a hard time saying he's a "street footballer", all skill but no work ethic, Keegan said he'd only be any good in home games. Both comments are total bollocks in my opinion. Hatem actually did a lot of tracking back and blocking runs yesterday, and last season some of our best moves away from home came through him: WBA, Swansea & Bolton away spring to mind.
-
As has been said his first touch was a mare, but when he picked up the ball on that left flank and ran with it I was impressed. I didn't realise he was that fast. Think he might start in the centre vs Atromitos?
