  1. Their identity is derived negatively, i.e. based on what it's not. "Proud to be Mackems" becomes "Proud to not be Mags."

If we manage to avoid injuries (and avoid sendings off), I think Rafa will see us safe. It could ultimately come down to management, and I'd take Rafa ahead of any of the other managers we'll presumably be up against in any relegation dogfight.
  3. Apparently there's some 12-year old tearing it up for Dortmund's U17s.
  4. I refer you to my previous answer [emoji854] I've seen it, it's utter bollocks. I can't believe anyone would try and claim they were ahead of the curve and cite Keegan resigning as the moment. 'I knew that Al Qaeda were trouble, I tried to tell you all!' 'When did you realise?' '9/11'
  5. Why does it seem like the club owes him more and new money every season?
  6. Algeria sitting on 1 point in their qualification group. Gonna be very hard for them to qualify.
  7. It'll be well deserved if we miss out on Russia. All the excuses in the world can't make up for the way we've played throughout qualifying. It's painful to watch Howard out there...his body failed him years ago. Ream is no good and Cameron mostly plays DM for Stoke these days, so asking them to marshal the defense was a mistake waiting to happen. Bradley left alone in central midfield to do everything and basically relied on a 'bit o' magic' from Pulisic to create goalscoring opportunities. At the end of the day though, Costa Rica are a better team and actually play like one. Last night was a clinic in counter-attacking football. It would probably be a good thing for us not to qualify. They wouldn't be able to paper over the cracks that have existed for years. We've stagnated since Klinsmann took over and Arena is an old dog who shouldn't be anywhere near a team needing new tricks.
  8. Whoever's ultimately in charge of their transfer policy is an idiot. They'd be done if they were forced to deal with any significant spending constraints.
  9. This Coutinho business is grating. Sell him, don't sell him, just shut the fuck up about it.
  10. Hasn't he suffered enough!!!! he'd have undoubtedly died in some gruesome fashion had he chosen to play for us. I fully expect something horrible to happen to Pulisic.
  11. He should be offered to Blyth, that's about his level.
  12. Did what Rafa asked of him. I wish him well.
  13. Great stuff top notch reference
  14. He's a homeless deaf mute's Scott Parker.
  15. Laughable offer in this market.
  16. Fact he's a solid PL defender + British innit?
  17. As an employment lawyer (admittedly in the U.S.) for over 20 years, there are two types - those who serve the long-term best interest of their client, and self-serving c*nts who seek to demonstrate their indispensability to their clients by defending/supporting the client's crazy@ss decision and thereby boosting their fragile egos and sustaining their irrationally-inflated egos. I had no idea the White House staff were all employment lawyers.
  18. this meme does need to die though
