  1. They're fucking better than us. Don't sugarcoat that shit. They've already put as many shots on target as we usually do. Missing "a bit of magic" though aren't they. The shitbags. #NETD All I'm saying is that if we played Tahiti we'd win 1-0. From an own goal.
  2. Just for Warren, hope the crowd breaks out into a "MURIEL! MURIEL!" chant.
  3. Nigeria were in the air for like 3 days. They played a qualifier on the moon or some shit. Nah, pilots flew the long way round and missed Brazil the first time. They had to refuel in-air.
  4. Good point from the commentator just now, Tahiti are coming off a long flight. That explains it.
  5. Hasn't fulfilled the potential that I first saw in him when he scored the winner in the OFC final. The way Dragon are set up he needs to drop deep to receive the ball but doesn't seem prepared to do so.
  6. Over/under 99.5% possession for Spain when they play Tahiti?
  7. Shola couldn't break into the Tahiti side.
  8. Goal-line heroics from Tahiti. A regular Steve Taylor they've got there.
  9. Warren, what's your take on Steevy Chong Hue? How's he looked for the Dragon this season?
  10. Baba and Kaka are good people, but you act like the Baba post after a Tahiti win wouldn't be seven paragraphs and incredible. Homer himself couldn't craft a greater epic.
  11. Really pulling for Tahiti to not be completely embarrassed today. Won't go so far to say as I want to see them get a result, in deference to Baba and Kaka.
  12. We'd probably get Ibrox'd. If we can't win the SPL then we should just get some lacrosse sticks and gear. Right de-rail but honestly what the fuck is Lacrosse? Seems like a right fuck about with some NFL gear and some bullshit rod with a net. The white man's hockey, man.
  13. 1/1.8 goal to league game ratio throughout his career.
  14. Place your bets now, what will happen first: a Joe Kinnear coronary or Newcastle relegated?
  15. USA and Roma are understandable. Newcastle makes sense because of the parallels to the Bills, but the Bills coincidence is too much.
  16. Gonna learn loads of Italian watching Roma. No conflict of interest there imo. I pull for Roma. And yes, it's almost purely because of their U.S. connections.
  17. Be curious to hear what Disco or the other South America watchers think of him.

    Alan Pardew

I truly think Ashley thought he had struck gold with Pardew after the 2011/12 season: a yes-man manager who could seemingly oversee some competitive football. So he gave him a big fat contract to keep him around. And when we tanked last season, Ashley really started to regret that big fat contract. And he loses a lot of face if he drops his prized manager and is forced to give him a nice severance. To be perfectly honest, Ashley doesn't lose a lot of face by giving Kinnear a front office job. We here know how utterly shite he is at what he does, but your lay fan doesn't care what happens off the field, behind the scenes. Think there'd be an uproar from the fanbase as a whole if we dropped Graham Carr? People, generally, care only about what happens on the field and they're not going to look beyond the players and manager.

Makes no sense, hire another staff with 3 year contract is not the way to cut down budget. It's got nothing to do with trimming the budget, it's Ashley knowing he looks like an idiot if he gives Pardew an 8-year contract, fires him after 1 season, and loses out on whatever severance terms are included in Pardew's contract. We have no idea what's included in JK's contract, or really what his role will be. Guy seemed desperate enough to get back into football in whatever capacity, I'm sure he's here on a skin and bones contract. The only logical reason Ashley brought-in JK is to put pressure on Pardew. Otherwise it's a completely irrational move. It all depends on what Ashley's motivation for hiring JK is. Ashley does not care if he looks like an idiot , otherwise he would not had hired JFK. I do not buy this nonsense that JFK is here to push Pardew out that is complete tripe. He can afford to pay off Pardew easily, if Ashley is so scared of paying out money, why did he sanction all those transfers in January? That depends on what his motivations are. If he's aiming to force out Pardew, it makes sense. If it works, he's accomplished what he wanted to accomplish. If his primary motivation is to surround himself with another yes-man, it makes sense. I don't think Ashley sees any discernible difference between Pardew and Kinnear as managers. Trading one yes-man crap manager with a big contract for another yes-man crap manager with a small contract would be a coup for him. Ashley will do just enough to keep the team in the PL, whatever that entails.
