Is there a reason Diego Alves wasn't included in the CC squad?
-
Looks like they just shoved a tampon up his nose and shrugged their shoulders.

Guy is everywhere. I swear he ref'd a Concacaf WCQ between Montserrat and Belize last year. The fuck were you watching Montserrat v Belize for. Always on the look out for that "darkhorse."

"Walk it off Luiz. It's just a broken nose, you fucking pussy."

USA ! USA ! USA ! It's clearly because they're the most athletic in the world.
-
Doesn't surprise me. I remember him being one of the star performers at WC2006 and he's been a regular since then.

U.S. has more players with 100+ caps than any other country. Dempsey is on 99 and Howard is on 90. I don't think that's necessarily a good thing.

An hour ago that comment asked if the US national team would ever have a goalkeeper with hair and that was an unanswered question. The buzz/balding look is definitely in vogue for American GKs: http://bandofartists.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/tim-howard-soccer-goalie-with-tourette-syndrome.png http://i.ebayimg.com/t/ASTON-VILLA-BRAD-GUZAN-SIGNED-6x4-PORTRAIT-2012-2013-PROMO-PHOTO-COA-/00/s/MTE1OVg4MDQ=/$T2eC16V,!)UE9s3wCPC!BQ)g+1cmP!~~60_35.JPG http://www.mlssoccer.com/sites/league/files/imagecache/player_profile_headshot/players/head-shots/20120217_RSL_2684_Rimando.jpg http://www.mlssoccer.com/sites/league/files/imagecache/player_profile_headshot/players/head-shots/Hamid_Bill.JPG http://www.mlssoccer.com/sites/league/files/imagecache/player_profile_headshot/players/head-shots/Johnson_1.jpg

Good read. A problem I'm noticing in central midfield is that Jones believes himself to be top dog and doesn't like playing second-fiddle to Bradley. Against Panama, Cameron understood that he needed to hold and let Bradley do his thing.

I think it is indeed a requirement. I'm not sure what it says about us non-native fans. We actually chose to follow this club at one point. Epitome of loony.

Aye or him. Christ that post could be about 5 or 6 different people.

Not sure if talking about Mike Ashley or womblemaster.

I like that the cup games are included on our schedule. As if.

Fwiw, I think cp40 was agreeing with you Kanj man.

Indeed. Much of it goes against "conventional wisdom."

We've got home matches against Jamaica and Mexico and away matches in Costa Rica and Panama. I've been reading that 16 is the bare minimum magic number, should be enough to put us through to Brazil.

Not the greatest performance, but it'll do. Tough Honduras side with some real quality (Espinoza and Najar in particular were very good tonight). 3 wins in a row, top of the group with 13 points.

Besler is a smart player; he actually reminds me a whole lot of Bocanegra. Gonzalez obviously has loads of talent, but he's the weaker one of the two. He's definitely a player that could benefit from a move to Europe (or Mexico), somewhere he'll get pressured for 90 minutes. Great through the air, but his ground skills and distribution leave much to be desired. Evans will do at RB for the time being. He's a classic American player: 100% effort, physical, but lacking that touch. Until Tim Chandler gets his head out of his ass or Cherundolo proves he can still play, I'm sticking with Evans at RB. Fabian Johnson and Zusi have solidified their starting spots on either wing, imo. It's such a breath of fresh air, having two wide players capable of delivering accurate crosses. Johnson is just so much better at LM than he is at LB. Beasley continues to start but I imagine Edgar Castillo will be the starting LB come 2014.

Danny'll be beside himself in the big city.

U.S.: Howard; Evans, Gonzalez, Besler, F.Johnson; Bradley, Jones; Zusi, Dempsey, E.Johnson; Altidore

In honor of tonight's game being played in SLC, here's an intimate look at the Real Salt Lake faithful:
