OK. Now I understand that the League Cup has been devalued in some eyes, as has the UEFA Europa League, and to an extent, the FA Cup. Honestly, best defensive performance of the season. Both of them were absolutely tremendous. The amount of headers won against Traore was ridiculous. That's what amazed me. They kept floating balls in towards Traore before Mbiwa or Perch flew up past his head and cleared them. We of all fans should know that height does not necessarily equate with aerial prowess. As a side note, seemed to me that Eto'o was playing rather deep tonight. Almost as an attacking midfielder. Traore if anyone positioned himself like a striker would. I did notice that which is far removed from his strengths IMO and we seemed quite comfortable to deal with it. Except for those two cracking shots, he seemed pretty ineffective tonight.

Perch and Raylor, cut from the same cloth. Jacks-of-all-trades, masters of none. Every squad needs them though.

He's a very good player on an incredible run of form. If he can replicate this over a full season or two, then we can wank ourselves silly over him. Nobody is deserving of being hyped before games he's not even playing in though.
