  1. I guess that's one good thing about Newcastle being far away from most in this country and both regional rivals currently not being in the same league. They do look a good run of fixtures, and annoyingly they have already played us, Liverpool, and Chelsea away and still doing well, but away to Wolves and Forest could be trickier than they sound, especially the former, mainly due to geographical reasons. Wolves did take 4 points off them last season, both under Emery, and those games will obviously mean more to the crowd. Wouldn't be a huge surprise though if they did win most of them as you say. If they did win 9 or 10 of their first 12 games then it would be pretty impressive.
  2. Leicester a goal up against Bburn after 3 mins, fake Colo with the goal. I don't think Preston getting thumped was a shock yesterday, they won pretty much every match, possibly all of them by a single goal, and will more than likely sift back down to midtable in the coming months. Not sure Ipswich will last the pace either, it will be very impressive if they do, so hopefully Leicester can keep pushing on and comfortably take one of the two automatic slots, and less leeway for those down the road 1-1 now. Two goals inside 8 mins.
  3. Aye, possibly, especially with it being live on ITV1 as well. Probably makes sense for Sky to save some of their better stuff.
  4. There's obviously other means to watch football these days (which I don't personally bother with), and just stick to terrestrial, Sky, TNT, Amazone etc. but the Spanish match being on Viaplay doesn't help. I did get it over the summer, was a right faff on trying to cancel, ended up keeping it for another month which I didn't want. Cancelled it at the bank after that, before eventually finding a way via a lengthy phone call with someone at Sky, so vowed never to purchase Viaplay again . That women's match is at 5.30pm. It's good in a way that women's football is more widely available - you go on to live-footballontv.com and around half the matches these days are women's, and a lot of them are free on the likes of FA Player, but despite all the success and feel good factor of the Lionesses, I just can't imagine the average person who would automatically tune into any Super Sunday match at 4.30pm, be like, can't wait for this Birmingham vs London Lionesses match later on. I'd imagine the lack of 4.30pm game would be due to a combo of the Ryder Cup final day, and to try and get as many additional eyes on the WSL with it being the first day of the season, but there's no doubt the average football fan on Sky will be thinking they are getting a far worse service today, and the ratings will reflect this, so hopefully it's not too common going forward and the heavy WSL promotion is mainly kept to men's international breaks.
  5. Aye, it's grim, badly missing that marquee 4.30pm match. I probably will end up watching Blackburn vs Leicester and Forest vs Brentford though, and far more hipster, but Rennes vs Nantes at 7.45pm on TNT Sports could be OK - I do like watching random derbies.
  6. I think that was probably more to do with avoiding a far more obvious yellow a few mins earlier. Almost certainly would have been in the refs thoughts.
  7. Miggy winner in that good end of season run, season before last.

https://www.instagram.com/p/Cx1AP6ktyT6/ Giving away his shirt to a random comment on his Instragram. Pretty sure this is the first time his comments have been open to anyone since he joined, as before they were always limited to those who he followed. Not sure if it will go back to limited after this, or if this was the opportunity to finally leave it fully public and that he is much more confident and happy with where he is at and how things are going.
  9. I'm not particularly worried, hence the addition of the emoji, just pointing out that he seems to have developed a bond with the club he's currently representing.
  10. I just hope he doesn't get too attached to the club and push for a permanent move there . He does come across happy there which can surely only be a good thing for his development.

Crystal Palace finally moved ahead of them in the all time Premier League table today after their shock win at Old Trafford, pushing them to 18th. Wolves are the closest to them of the current PL sides, but are only on 396 points, so they won't drop any further for many years, if at all. It obviously doesn't really mean that much, but the PL forming does almost completely coincide with when I was old enough to get into football, so it is quite interesting to see how teams have done in my lifetime. Their -292 goal difference is also the worst out of all 51 clubs who have competed in the league.
  12. I was gonna say game over, but then forgot what happened the last time Liverpool went down to 10 men...
  13. PSG currently drawing 0-0 (into injury time) with Clermont who were bottom of the league with one point from their first 6. They have the same amount of points from their 7 games as us (12), but they are 2nd in their league, not 8th. Mbappe started, so will surely be fine to play here.
  14. Still think Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool will be pretty clear of the rest come the end of the season, and it'll be us, Spurs, Brighton, Villa, Man Utd (in no particular order) battling it out for the other one or two CL spots, so Spurs win would be the worst result for us IMO, but that said, it's still early days, and sometimes it's nice just to watch a high level match and not be overly fussed about the outcome.
  15. 0-2 Luton. Morris. Captained him this week with their double game.
  16. Probably switch over to Southampton vs Leeds soon. Fair play to Villa, didn't see this score line coming.
  17. I like to see all local non league sides do well, but at the same time, I do like the fact that Newcastle are the only league side in one of the UK's biggest conurbations, so would probably prefer Gateshead to continue playing great football, surprising people, stay at the top end of the league for years to come, but always keep falling short at the 6 team playoff hurdle.
  18. Villa are slight favourites, and them being at home helps from a neutral perspective as they have won 9 leagues games in a row there. Very intriguing match and one I'm looking forward to. Probably hoping for a draw as only 2 points will be dished out, but I'd rather just see a good game of football, so not too fussed on the outcome really.
  19. Tomorrow is a great day of live football. Villa vs Brighton at 12.30 and then Tottenham vs Liverpool at 5.30. Two, close looking, hard to call matches featuring half of the better 8 or 9 teams. Even Southampton vs Leeds at 12.30 looks decent. Bit of a shame (from an armchair POV) that the early PL match wasn't at 8pm like Burnley-Man Utd last week - there was nothing really on at 12.30pm last week, whereas here there's two good matches.
  20. Shocking that Benfica vs Porto isn't even on a random app type channel. Classic fixtures like that should be individually picked up by someone, even if they don't own the rights to the full league. 0-0 heading into half time, but Porto have had a man sent off. It is on betting sites so will probably find a stream in the second half with the Championship match and the rugby being one sided.
  21. Some bookies would have paid out already.
  22. Aye, one up inside 5 mins, doubt it'll be long until switch over, similar to the recent Southampton match.
  23. I expect Sunderland to win, thought they'd be shorter than 6/5 though. If they go 2 goals ahead I'll switch over to the Rugby World Cup.
