Didn't realise Leicester's interim manager was from the North East. The name did ring a bell, obviously being similar to a famous actor, and just realised / remembered that he was with us for a fair bit at the start of the century.

Another early home red card would be welcome. Their home record is very good, and they've beaten some top teams there this season (and away). A draw wouldn't be bad, but player for player we do look better (I know it doesn't always work that way, as we saw a fair bit, especially last season during our upturn), and we are now slight odds on faves, so we should be targeting the win here. If we did win, then it would massively take the pressure off at Villa next week, which I think does look the tougher match of the two.

https://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/tottenham-v-brighton/winner Crazy that Brighton are the match favourites at most bookies - have Tottenham Kane out or something? At Brighton I'd have expected them to be faves, but not at Spurs.
-
For those that do still care about rivals matches, if there had to be a winner in the Spurs vs Brighton match, who would you prefer to win and why. Draw is clearly the best result.

But then again, I don't think we are massively competing with Man Utd this season. Far more concerned about how Spurs, Brighton, and even Liverpool get on. Obviously the worse Man Utd do, the more leeway there will be of finishing top 4, but as long as the unlikely event of Man Utd and Chelsea both winning their European comps and finishing outside the top 4 doesn't happen, I don't care at all whether we finish 3rd or 4th. I've seen us finish 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, and 3rd before, and there's no qualifiers now, so it's basically just an extra £2m, which should be relative peanuts.

Simms did have a great chance before, but can't see Man Utd keep on missing all these chances they are creating.

No UK TV for the first time in 2023, our 17th match? Anyone want to Prime Minister me please?

Quite fitting that the last update on this thread was on March 16th, the day before their draw against Bolton, and the first of a 6 match winless run. In the past 3 weeks, Plymouth and Ipswich have both won their 3 league matches, whereas Sheff Wed have played 6 matches and only gained 4 points. They've gone from being 5 points clear of 3rd with 2 games in hand, to outside the automatics, but played a game more. Crazy.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/national-league-north/table Could be a crucial point for them. Leamington won, but Kettering and Farsley both suffered heavy defeats. Monday's fixtures: Farsley vs Blyth Kettering vs Leamington

A couple of OGs (Pinnock and Smith) not included either.

Is that another @Scootaccount?

I did as well after around 93:30. Switched back 2 mins later assuming they would be walking off celebrating, and the ref had just given the penalty, so saw it out from there.

I was kind of thinking similar, but looking at the league, who would you say would make it interesting? WBA is a bit like Norwich, can add Watford in there as well. Luton and Millwall stank the joint out earlier, and it's potentially an EIGHTH London side if the latter come through the playoffs. Sunderland would be interesting, but a no no for many, for obvious reasons, and similar for Boro, but to a lesser extent. Coventry maybe, perhaps someone like Bristol City because it's a big city and haven't been in the top flight for ages, but they're well off the pace.

This match could have been huge if results went a bit differently last week with Boro collapsing and Sheff U getting a great win at Norwich and winning earlier. Boro could have been level on points last week, but now find themselves 9 points behind. They obviously need to win to keep any slight hopes alive, but nothing like as much jeopardy as there could have been. Fair play to Burnley mind. They'll obviously go up regardless of the result today, but impressive that they can seal it in early April with 7 games still to play.

Cracking match to be fair, really enjoyed it (especially the ending). Didn't think Hull would get back in it after conceding the 4th
-
The BBC live text think it was a penalty. One of those you'd want if your side, but not if you're defending. Always likely to be given to the home side in a big stadium. 71 mins PENALTY Sunderland 2-3 Hull Jack Clarke skips into the area on the left and Alfie Jones bundles him to the ground. It's a clear penalty and Sunderland have the chance to restore parity from the spot.
-
Pen to Sunderland. Just about the right decision I think, especially at home. Darlow unlucky, got hands to it, but in off the post. 3-3
-
Christ, almost 0-2, to 2-1 in no time at all I'll give it one more goal.

With the Wincemeister and Raymondo?

Gerrin, marra! Hull 1 up.

They've still got a fighting chance, but they will have to win today (which they likely will), but they've only taken 6 points from their last 8 games - they were winning in stoppage time against Bristol C a few weeks ago, conceded a penalty, then lost 3 in a row, before doing OK in their last 4 against decent opposition (5 points), but even an additional 4 more points in those 8 games (which would have still been an underwhelming return) and they would have been in a pretty good position at the moment.
