The only reason Longstaff got games is because we had nobody fit, it wasn't some master stroke that Rafa saw him and plucked him out of the development squad, he doesn't always get everything right all of the time. The wingback position is pretty critical to the way he wants us to play though.

Sean Longstaff (now playing for Leeds United)
Tiotes Witch Doctor replied to xLiaaamx's topic in Football
Hopefully he will make a speedy recovery and that will be that, we've got some decent options still in the middle even though I don't really care much for Shelvey, but we know Diame and Ki are more than capable especially with Almiron coming into the fold and taking the pressure off. Hopefully he'll be back raring to go for pre-season and even stronger for the start of next season. -
He was nothing short of fantastic tuesday night, I've gone from wanting to pay for his train fare to a new club to seriously hoping he decides to stay, him and Longstaff together just works as the sitting two, while the wingbacks and front three do the rest.

It's a shame in a way though because Fernandez was an absolute rock for us and is more than good enough to be starting too.
-
About 50 million worth of invesment in the summer would be enough to keep him, and probably enough to improve our squad quite a bit, that is if we managed to do a straight swap for Rondon and Gayle and hopefully get 10 million for Shelvey and a few million here and there off some other outgoings.

Yep, said the same in the pre-match thread. Yet even when Muto's back he'll still get game time. Exactly. -

We all know how bad Ashley is and what hes done to this club, but it doesn't automatically mean Rafa is exempt of everything ffs. Once again left it till we were losing to change things, the subs were baffling and we looked awful against Watford's second string. He is accountable, just not the biggest person accountable. Yeah he's around 0.00001% accountable, yet almost all of your posts are about him and not Ashley, weirdly. Had 11 years of talking Ashley to death, obvious what hes about and that hes destroyed us as a club. But the man who sets us up playing such awful negative boring football, spends money on players he doesn't want or doesn't trust to get minutes, and often gets it dead wrong regarding subs, is definitely accountable for how pathetic we are on the pitch. It honestly blows my mind how you can still post this same utterly ignorant drivel like. It blows my mind that people can't seem to grasp that you can still hate Ashley, understand hes the biggest problem by a long chalk, but still think Benitez should take a share of the blame for what happens on the football pitch. Credit where it due, and criticism where it's due. -
Why would he walk away, he can make mistake after mistake and know he won't be held accountable for any of it, the cult wouldn't allow it. Maybe that's why he stays?

We didn't threaten them but they didn't threaten us, think we'll end up nicking this 1-0 when Perez comes on to save the day. -

Can we just get Kenedy off at HT and straight back to London and use his spot for someone who wants to be here? -
Has made a go fund me page for his school friends dying mam who needs treatment in America, has only put in £100 himself though, obviously the though is a great one but surely on his money you would donate at least a grand for a mate?

Ayozé Pérez (now playing for Villarreal)

He's not good enough, but does tend to score some important goals for us and seems to now have the attitude of giving all he can and fighting for the cause, celebration doesn't bother me but I hope he can understand why fans were frustrated with him early on in the season, I personally felt like he was phoning it in at times and while I don't agree with the booing, it seems to have brought out a determination and fuck you attitude that can only help him and us overall. -

If there's any two of Diame, Shelvey, Hayden fit for today, this lad will be on the bench so fast his head will spin, Rafa has pretty much shown so far he only uses youth if he absolutely has to. -

Warnock working miracles with Cardiff currently to have them out of trouble..... -
It's all just opinions at the end of the day, we've got people saying now that Rafa didn't want those players or didn't choose them, which again is just an opinion, theres no actual facts is there. We all debate and comment on all aspects of NUFC, none of us are experts are we, lets just close the forum and not bother discussing anything because we aren't all experts.

Excellent goal, the pass was sublime.

What are your doubts? It's well documented on here people are sick of hearing it, mistakes regarding man management, tactics, selections, signings. Signings Basically Murphy should be better than salah. Muto should be better than Pogba. Aye, that's what I said, this guy gets it. Nah not saying you did, but the usual argument is that people think Rafa could have got better players than Murphy and muto for the money, but nobody can name names, or acknowledge that other teams are spending double that on subs. I understand that, but hes working for Mike Ashley, he must have had an inkling that his funds could be limited, so why spend the bulk of the money on two players he doesn't give a chance or trust, that's my issue, why shop for a "one for the future" Murphy when the money could have been better spent on more experience or a player ready for now. You're right I cant name players, that's not my job, Rafa and his team are the ones with connections all around the globe, I'm pretty sure thats 24 million that could have had a bit more thought put into it.
