Let's not panic. Chelsea will be top three this season. Would much sooner lose to them than Spurs or Villa. That's one of the trickiest fixtures out of the season over with early doors. We'll click in the coming weeks and the Ramadan lads will get their strength back up. Let's nit get carried away. Think anyone would have took 3 points from our first two games of the season. I don't think today's match makes us out to be any better or worse than we thought we were. Lets refrain from any knee jerk stuff.

The circumstances between our game last season and this were somewhat different. A stellar performance from us but a Chelsea side who's minds were already in the nou camp. Plus, the improvement to Chelsea's squad is considerably greater than to our own. I don't think I'm being overly negative, but after one fantastic season I think we still need to keep our feet on the ground. I'm confident we'll make a game of it, which is more than can be said for earlier years. I hope I'm wrong and we knick it though...

How's that? They haven't looked anything special and have just had a midweek game where all of the first team played. I'm not confident about this game either. I think at home and with the quality they have going forward they have the potential to score more than once and I can't see us getting anything out of it if we have to chase the game. I hope I'm wrong but can't see beyond a home win.

Wish we were allowed roll-on roll-off subs

We're not doing that shite straight free kick to Williamson on the corner of the 18 everytime are we? It's a shit tactic which has never worked yet.
-
Plus if they're wank (don't know anything about them in truth), he might be able to get a goal or two and get him off the mark for the season.

That WBA game was something special from the whole team, the pace and urgency in our counter attacks was just amazing. That first half was the most enjoyable to watch from an attacking point of view out of the whole season. The way Ba, Cisse and HBA linked up, it felt like we were witnessing the start of something very special. I remember even Jonas from his deeper role putting in some killer passes. Would love more of the same please. Especially from our number ten. Makes the working week go quicker knowing you've got the opportunity to watch Hatem at the weekend.

He'll do a job whichever postion you put him in. I was fuming when he served me. Scanned a packet of Kettle Chips. The bastard tore them apart. I'm not getting served off him anymore, he'll probably tear them apart. Again.

He shouldn't have taken to twitter to air his dispute with the club then. He is a complete tool. Did you see his little remark on Shearer and Lineker because you could see their watches on MOTD. Now until that tweet I never really noticed the watches before. He is a self important mong, will be so funny to see him rot this season. It is obvious Hughes doesn't want him, its unlikely anyone in England will sign him due to his ban and the potential issues. If this guy just got on with football he'd be ok. Talented player, just a complete tool. His constant jibes at dress sense and shit are getting boring. Sort of patter you get on a playground. Not to mention his holier than though attitude just because he listens to the Smiths. His blog is far from the inspiring writing he thinks it is to boot.

Score a penalty whilst riding a bike and eating an apple. Although given the FAs views on tape that is a different colour to your socks, I don't know how well eating fruit during the game will go down.

Sorry Demba for side tracking your thread by foolishly remembering Shearer as a good penalty taker. I agree with what someone said about not being confident in Ba. For me I think that is 99.99% down to the Sundeland miss. For some reason I don't fancy Cisse as a pen taker either. In fact, coming to think of it there's very few in the current crop I would be able to watch comfortably stepping up to take a pen.
-
No because he has to be a named substitute. Otherwise I would asking for Shearer.

That 1-2 with Cabaye was probably our best piece of football during the game. Didn't really appreciate it at the time until I saw MotD. Cabaye was off the boil and didn't dictate enough of the passing. But in Cabaye and Dembas, and especially the man of this thread, we have players who can make something happen whilst being shit for the rest of the game.

Not recent, but I've only just signed up so thought I'd share. Saw Nolan with a bunch of his mates in Osbournes. They'd ordered some food and he offered us some of his pizza. He seemed really genuine and a top bloke. Certainly hold him in a higher regard as a result of it. Saw Andy Caroll on a night out in Whitley bay. Didn't speak to him but just the way he acted and carried himself didnt lend to liking him.

http://i.imgur.com/I5qdB.jpg Love the way he's disguised his attempted cross by looking at the goal. Would have been some skill if he hadn't fucked it up so badly.

Got the impression he had decided there was no way we were not winning that game. He just took it upon himself to make summit happen. We should keep trying that corner routine. If he gets running at a defender on the edge of the box like that they're going to drop their arse. They can either back off or bring him down like yesterday. I've ruled out tackling him as a feasible option. Saw it yesterday after the penalty they wouldn't get as tight to him on the next corner and he managed to fire a pass across goal. Also with Taylor back I'm expecting a few more goals from corners this season.

This was easily the best part of the programme. Had me in stitches. Apparently its repeated Wed at 3am for those that missed it

Having a midget like Defoe in their team was probably a factor in choosing Perch over Williamson. Perch is a better bet than the slow-turning Williamson against an agile Defoe. It also helps that they have no Adebayor to own Perch in the air, which is a definite weakness of his. . To be fair his aerial weakness only stems from his lack of height. He still has a canny leap on him. Remember him last year beating Caroll in the air. I can see him getting quite a few games this year as he's probably first choice back up for a few positions. I used to think Pardew was an idiot when he get bringing him on for the last half an hour in a string of games. But I'm quickly learning not to doubt/question anything Pards does.

The other half was watching that Dinner Date bollocks* yesterday. There was some bellend who had a whiteboard next to fridge and he'd written FTM on. Not obsessed though... * she may have been at work whilst I was watching this.

He came from Curacao but he is not blue, Vurnon Anita's black and white through and through, And it's Vurnon Anita, Vurnon Anita for me, We got him from Ajax, Marty paid his flight tax. aye, its wank.

Is it wrong to be excited about this signing when all I've got to base it off is: - the fact he's 23 (I think, can't be arsed to verify.) - his name - some YouTube clips - some forum chatter - and my faith in our current recruitment procedure (obvious exception of Obertan) Remember last season thinking "what's with all these French players?". Happy to admit on this one that I was made out to be a cunt.

Little things like that Sunderland game last season. Nevermind the penalty, that chance that fell to him at the end I'm certain Taylor would've buried it and then ran the length of the pitch in celebration. Fair enough Taylor is liable to the odd lapse/mistake/handball too but you forgive on the grounds of his commical acting. Very much a fan of Taylor and looking forward to seeing him play again now that he seems to have gotten over his "best British centre back/£100k pw calibre" which seemed to posses him way back when.

If "the corner" pick up on this song. I'm confident it will spread fast, need new songs for our euro adventure too Agreed, its been so long since our last dabble in Europe. Was a big fan of the songs that were getting churned out last time around even if they're bound for the scrapheap after one season. Admittedly Glasgow was easier to rhyme/more syllable friendly than Amsterdam.

Weren't you the mastermind behind such classics as "Benny, Benny Arfa," to the tune of Alejandro? Don't know why Gaga should be any less acceptable than Abba. Obviously just the Pappis Cisse song is much better. Needs as many airings as possible while we're still in the Uefa cup
