    Football pet hates

The fact that my team has probably an outside chance of a League Cup and nothing else
  2. Remember when brummie told us of the shite that O'Neill would serve up at Sunderland? We didn't listen. He was proven right. Take heed of my warning. You do not want Steve Bruce managing your football team.
  3. Been starting I think with Bentaleb and Eriksson. Man United could do a lot worse than trying to get Sandro or Paulinho. Pochettino doesn't seem to fancy them.
  4. He's not, trust me. He's a close second granted.
  5. Of all the people I would never want to manage Sunderland Warnock would probably be number one. The man is a cretin of the highest order and it would not surprise me in the slightest if what Puncheon said is true. Was Pardew in charge of West Ham when they sent Sheffield United down?
  6. Keeps it up til January and Mike will be flogging him to Spurs or something for a vastly inflated price. £10m profit in 6 months? Usually how he operates isn't it? We'd have to sell him for about £20m for it to be a £10m profit in Mike's world. Can't forget about dem signing on fees, agent fees and wages for his entire contract here, no matter if he is staying for the full contract or not. Good point. Gutted we've let £20m, Ginger Pirlo, England international, Killingworth Cabaye go for nowt :-(

  8. Given how dire England have been, and how little hope there seems to be of that turning around any time soon, you might be able to turn that into a positive: "C'mon lad, we'll shelter you until England are no longer a shambolic shower of s****, and you can move on in [2? 5? 10? 25?] years with your international reputation unsullied." Never thought of it that way mind.
  9. This is true. Bent was averaging about 1 in 2 for us and barely got a look in til he moved to Villa. Based on form alone Cattermole is ahead of Colback at the minute. Cattermole? Surely if you are going to nominate a Sunderland player it would be Rodwell? 2 games I've seen us play this season, Cattermole has been better than Rodwell. I'd rather players got picked on merit. At the minute it just tells any English player we try and sign, go somewhere else, you'll be nowhere near the squad if you sign for Sunderland. Merit is 2 games? Ok then. Seems as though that's what Colbacks call up is based on... If we go off the back end of last season. Rodwell wasn't playing but Cattermole was miles ahead of Colback. Ahead of him for tackling maybe. As a footballer Colback's far superior. I would disagree. I'd say Cattermole's footballing ability is underrated particularly as the disciplinary stuff cloud's people's judgements. He's always going to be viewed as a 'clogger'. He's a much better footballer than he's given credit for. He's liable to do something stupid at any moment though, especially in a big game. That's reason enough to not pick him. "Ginger Pirlo" though Didn't Lee Ryder make that one up? Dear god, when the England manager starts quoting that cretin it's time to be done with the national team...

  13. This is true. Bent was averaging about 1 in 2 for us and barely got a look in til he moved to Villa. Based on form alone Cattermole is ahead of Colback at the minute. I don't think Colback is anything special BUT he absolutely pisses all over Cattermole as footballer, not even close The day someone of the calibre of Cattermole gets picked for England is the day the country should just retire from international football He really doesn't
  14. This is true. Bent was averaging about 1 in 2 for us and barely got a look in til he moved to Villa. Based on form alone Cattermole is ahead of Colback at the minute. You should sell him then, give the lad a chance to play for England. And play Bridcutt? I'd rather we didn't

  16. I can't help thinking we have no chance of getting him. Being honest though I haven't seen a lot of him. Is he good?
  17. I would say it isn't that good a signing. Not for the fact that Di Maria is not a good player, he's excellent, but because if Van Gaal is going to continue with 3-5-2 he doesn't fit anywhere. Go 4-3-3 and you sacrifice Mata or a.n.other. They've quite literally shit themselves and spent a ton of money on the best player available without any thoughts as to where he's going to play. Saying that Blind would be an excellent signing but another centre half should have been a priority. Not Di Maria. Christ on Sunday Will Buckley made their defence look very average at times
  18. Where was this opinion when the combined XI threads were knocking about? I posted my opinion of him way before he signed. This is not a knee-jerk reaction to his debut. Go check the beginning pages of the thread. My post was in jest tbf I think Colback is a good player. He's better than a lot of people give him credit for. Watching the lad in the youth team he stood out a mile, ahead of Henderson who's come on leaps and bounds and will be an England regular for years.
  19. You let him take free kicks? He took the long ones. The short, direct ones were Cabella's. In all honesty I've always said he was a decent player and one with very good technique. Just surprising to see him doing that. Was his delivery decent? I never got a chance to see it what with Larsson lording over every set piece we've been given for the past three or four seasons

    Sunderland

Loads of talk of battles, ambushes and 'driving West Ham back into the sea' It's a bunch of fat, p*ssed middle aged men trying to punch eachother you tools. There are a few aspects of RTG I dislike. This is by far the worst part of it.
