In your position I'd have done the same thing. He was hamstrung by certain things no doubt but could have done a lot more with what he had at his disposal. Add to that the way he conducts himself and it's no wonder you all wanted him out.

However bar the one over the bar. This

On first viewing I thought the first one on Perez was a pen. Tough call though

Commiserations lads and lasses. I'm off to get drunk. Over the course of the game we deserved that

I'm now shitting myself. Be on here after the game, win, lose or draw. I'd settle for 1-1 now

We're going down. Shame but I do like a Championship season.

Down next season if not this

I just watched the two games today. The standard is appalling. A few decent enough players on show (Rivas, Shea, Higuita, Kaka obviously) but come on. Over there Bradley Wright-Phillips who rarely scored in League One is a 30 goal a season man...

Why do they let Michael Owen commentate on games?

They were in 2000 ah ok, 15 is a canny long time, just ask the Mackems. It's a canny long time like

Barely played. Same old team. Shame because he looks very talented when he's not crocked. Poyet has adopted the Old English attitude when it comes to him as well. Too small, too weak, not quick enough etc etc

I've got a mate who's just bought a house in Fox Street. He is a bit of a wrong'un like

Hello, I'm a Sunderland fan who was a season ticket holder for the reigns of Wilkinson, McCarthy, Bruce and now Poyet. Pleased to meet you. Edit: How could I forget O'Neill

Isn't it his job to coach the team ? Been there long enough now to at least have had an influence on how the team fucntions and what style of football they play. They're too busy trying to be nice to the fans by winning corners apparently. Half of what he's said makes no sense. I think what he's trying to say is that our fans get on the player's backs if they don't just lump it forward. It's true in some instances. However if we're 0-2 down at home to QPR and watching Bridcutt pass square between the two centre halves then the crowd is going to want more urgency. It's all very well having a passing game but when we only have 3 players in any attack then what's the point? We may as well smack it up to Wickham and hope Defoe can pick up the pieces. This is the beginning for me. I don't want the bloke sacked and hope he gets it right. Last night and his now sustained refusal to accept any blame for any problems we're having is beginning to irritate me.

I actually quite like him. He's a clever footballer, at times a good organiser and has more ability than he's given credit for. He looks a bit lightweight to play in this league though. For me he plays the holding role in a midfield three or not at all.

I'm avoiding any reports on the game for the minute but if he has said anything then this is my opinion word for word. How dare we expect to beat a team that hadn't gotten a point away from home all season, who've just lost their manager, without their top scorer to injury. Poyet got it spectacularly wrong tonight. Gomez and Wickham didn't seem to know who was playing on the left. The end result was that neither did. Meaning Isla and Phillips basically had free reign all first half. Bridcutt can't play in a two in the middle and Larsson was dominated by Henry, Fer and Barton.

You know how on occasion you look at people and say 'how are they getting paid that much to do that? I could do that easily' you say it but you don't really think it. Honestly tonight I could have played instead of him and I think I'd have done a better job. I watched this bloke misplace about 8 or 9 simple passes in 15 minutes. There's a reason for the hate
-
The fact that he sneaks a goal here and there doesn't make up for the fact that he's a nothing player 95% of the time. You don't play him just because you hope he might get a goal at some point. I think he's probably got more goals for Newcastle than he has in the rest of his career....

Nah Stevie G's farewell in the final man. Can see the pressure from the media to make it so influencing some big decisions. Hopefully Pards can do us a favour and knock them out next round.

Has Ashley ever done anything else ever?

Another group of fans ebing told "know your place" by the sounds of it. Im not sure why people follow football anymore when managres talk like this. See, I agree with this. Turn up, pay your money, watch crap. Unless you're one of the big teams. In which case don't even bother celebrating when your team goes 2-0 up in the fourth round of a cup. Football is screwed and I'm becoming more disillusioned by the day. Do I wish Quinn and Phillips were still around? Yes. Would I miss them as much if the football I'm currently watching wasn't turgid? Probably not. Look at Burnley, Southampton, West Ham. Showing a bit of ambition. Whether it's with their style of play or backing their manager. They're getting results. The media doesn't help either. Someone like us, yourselves, even Arsenal now for Gods sake. Get a result at Stamford Bridge and the Etihad and it's 'one the fans will remember for a long time'. I'd rather remember cup wins, going for the jugular and getting results. But I suppose that doesn't fit with the status quo.

Gardner should be playing in league one. He has no attributes apart from the ability to twat a football really really hard.

And Hull fans didn't want to believe us when we told them this would happen last season.
