I suppose the balance sheet figures are available at the club shop (and website), ready to be pressed onto replica shirts. A few fans should take up that option.

thank f*** someone else sees it i also agree with madras that he doesn't get his head up enough but i think on both sides (his and the other players) they've sort of both got into the rut of him having to do it all on his own or something - there could also be the element of pardew's risk analysis, i.e. he might be telling players to stand their ground was HBA has the ball because he's brilliant but more of a risk and turns over possession more often, not sure go back and watch the compilations of him playing in france and look how many times he's on the ball picking lush passes for players making runs in behind the defence, it's been conditioned out of him after 2 years of playing in a real life fussball team...needs conditioning back into them all through proper training Edit: i'm unable to c&p on my mobile device, but that post should be chucked in the 'Ace Posts' thread - that's the measuring stick as to how to describe The Pardoo Effect, and to apply context to the often thrown around joke "refined player X will be in time, or player Y has unfortunately been Pardewed"

Actually, you sort of jolted my memory a bit there. A few days ago i read an award winning article (Pulitzer i think iirc) about the death of Dorothy Stratten. I saved it ages ago, as a PDF-file, and it lay dormant for yonks, so i finally got around to checking it out. It was a thorough piece that looked into Snider/Stratten relationship, and the Hefner/Playmates dynamic etc. Miss Statten wasn't given enough bandwidth last time i posted in the vv thread - a ride aboard the Google Train is calling. Apologies for derailing thread.

I don't have a post-to-please policy, when contributing in the fotbol section. So, f***-off.

We wouldn't pay the relatively low loan fee then. Definitely. Financials aside though, if i was a Chelski fan, i wouldn't want the club exposing one of the hottest striking prospects in world football to Pardoo's footy ethos (for a season-long loan period). Hypothetical scenario: if we were actually prepared to stump-up & compete with Everton over loan signing fees etc. In terms of player development (while the lad is on loan), and the respective approaches of Martinez vs Pardoo. If i was in Mourinho's boots, i'd set aside any personal friendship (with Pardoo) and opt for the former every time, i'd tout the lad abroad rather than let Lukaku anywhere near Pardoo.

NUFC media bans - Telegraph now banned from club
Eddy Chibas replied to Anderson's topic in Football
The local rags have been the stockyard Judas Cows, for the Ashley Regime, since Day Dot. I have no sympathy for them, re-the banning. Fuck-em. -
ice cold Deputy Dawg man, Ice cold. [insert Standing Round of Applause GIF] Unashamed prickery, in it's simplest & finest form right there. Nothing against you Kanji... there just comes a time when certified pricks (like myself) feel compelled to stand-up & honor the contributions of their gifted peers.

A spell on the bench seemed to be on the cards, once Pardoo had all his toys fit & ready again. 12 months on - Anita's scores (at training HQ, filed away with Pardoo's stat spreadsheets & notepads etc) in the brick smashing & coconut tree kicking drills are most likely still not up to scratch.

You are wonderful. I love you O proper fan. Think on though if REAL proper fans hadn't boycotted stopped away from the games in the late 80's and early nineties and caused the organisation of things like the Magpie group which led to ousting the likes of skinflint McKeag and his cronies from the club and resulted in SJH taking over at the club, then, proper fans like yourself would never have had the Keegan's entertainers years to enjoy etc etc. Carry on puckering your rustybullethole and giving your money to "Mike" if it makes you happy. Just don't bother crying when he sh*ts on you ... again! Yeah, the failed share offer (with the cash injection it would have delevered, to counterbalance dwindling gate revenue) was the tipping point which forced SJH to make his final move/get McKeag and his cronies out. The club was heading for the shitter if wasn't for the offensive actions of supporters who were prepared to & ultimately did turn their back for a greater good - by first voting with their feet by boycotting games enmasse & the failed share offer was the most powerful 'no confidence' motion available at the time. Alot is owed to the actions of what Nut believes to be the antithesis behaviour of proper fans.

If he loses his place to Tiote when he returns its a joke imo especially on the backs of what would be two sequences of solid performances (hopefully), the first was last season (before he was just about never heard from again, prior to current injuries). If he's binned again (once Pardew has more options) the reality will hit that his career will be heading down the shitter under Pardew, and he would be more than entitled to lodge a transfer request, particularly with a WC looming with fringe-spots up for grabs in the n.t. squads.

I suppose it would be/is the bastard brother of the "Official Excuses" thread, but where's the unofficial & match-related "What did Alan Pardew scribble in his notepad?" thread. Obviously a thread for those who fuck around on MS Paint etc.

In the high-tech age of email/gmail (and quick-fire fax) Joe Kinnear is probably submitting bids via marked & clearly identifiable carrier pidgeons. Conveniently time consuming, even better if Ashley has hired shooters to take the little buggers down.

It's just not complete, if he/Asshley is going art deco - needs some Pollock inspired splashings of black&white along the brickwork, accompanied with portraits of club greats done in Pop Art style.

Pablo Osvaldo? Looks like somebody who doesn't hide (or shrivel up) when things are going against his team. Exactly the sort of 'character' Arsenal (fair weather sailors) have been crying out for ages. He DOESN'T sit in the Bellamy sphere, pace-wise as a pure burner, but he's not an all-out central striker either - lovely first touch & turn, and enough pace (off-the-mark) to beat a pressing defender. Excellent footballer. EDIT
-
I think he's made a mistake by not jumping into the race to sign Osvaldo. Classy player, and they need some hardness upfront. I know the bloke is a bit of mentalist, but he's a guy with alot of pride (wears his heart on his sleeve, runs all day - like Bellamy).

Long odds at the minute. They might come into 20, or teens, if Dortmund draw an outsider (or two) in the group phase.
-
Very impressed with his movement, for goals1 & 2. When he attacks the box, the off-the-ball runs aren't just straight lines. That's a nightmare for backpeddling defenders, as they mind their zones (tracking off-the-ball runs, from deep). That's the signature team movement, of how Dortmund run the channels & ultimately flood the box, when they stream forward. Goal no.2 was a great example - not alot of room (vertically) to burst away from the nearest defender, if he runs a straight line, but the variation of the run buys him some space to play with as the through ball is layed on & from there it's a regulation finish with fuck-all defensive nuisance applied. Shades of Gotse about that goal.A certain percentage of that goal was calmness in front of goal, most of it was f***ing good coaching/the assimilatiion of the kid into Dortmund's forward flood. Excellent vision & awareness, to momentarily check his run & spring the line, for his 3rd. So he's got a brain to go with his quickness & skill - way above Pardew's station/coaching. What are the bookies' odds, of him topping the CL scoring charts?

Yep. Certainly not a chiselled athlete cut from the pages of a fitness magazine (befitting of Moussa & Remy) but that's (bit placed in bold) his natural physiological advantage, and enables him to ride a challenge & produce some penny cutting changes of direction. Messi (similar build) isn't exactly a testament to modern sports science either, and it hasn't affected his ability to get out of a logjam with the extra defensive attention he receives (courtesy of a floating midfielder hanging off his every move, in the hole). And Messi is usually swarmed upon his 1st touch (which is soft). Given that he is always a marked man, that centre of gravity gets him out of the shit often.
-
He's not either. Yep he's a central midfielder who should be given license to get forward imo. Should be the driving-force (or runner), of the one-two passing sequences (with a touch passer like Cabaye and/or when Ben Arfa drifts inside looking for the ball) through the middle. I don't think he has a winger's trickery (on the dribble), to suck-in/draw-in & beat a defender/or fullback who is backpeddling ie. giving themselves a defensive cushion. Running the central corridor (getting into advanced positions with his pace & power, blowing past his man off-the-ball in passing moves involving one-twos etc) looks to be his forte. It's a pity (due to the current management of the team) that when i look at Player X, i'm always thinking something like 'jeez, that player would be a perfect fit for Club Y'. Sissoko has been the prime subject the last few days, in light of how Pardew is using him. I think he'd be perfect for Arsenal - Wenger's midfield is a little top-heavy with passers/finesse CMs, and i think his strengths would compliment the likes of Arteta. Managers like Wenger (whose management style on the training paddock is technique-based, and whose team ethos is all about fluidity between defense & attack, and vice versa) would be well advised to monitor Pardew's continued mismanagement of Sissoko. Moussa's body language didn't look good at the back-end of last season. Like a number of players, i don't think he believes in the manager's methods & tactical thinking & rigid/defensive mindset etc. In time (providing Pardew survives the chop, as the season progresses) we'll have a footballer in need of some drastic rehabilitation on the training paddock - you could argue that to be case now, and thus i think there's a potential gem for his next club. Anita falls into the same category imho.

From viewing the Liverpool v Melbourne Victory friendly, Ange Postecoglu showed this bloke (ie AP) up. Man-for-man this A-League outfit shouldn't have been on the same park as Liverpool, yet through organisation (and the implementation of technical-based philosophy) they didn't look all that out of place, even though Liverpool were tuning-up. Victory linked-up between midfield & attack, midfielders actually ran the channels (didn't leave the forwards isolated in attack) on the counter, and frustrated Liverpool (who were pressing) with passing & movement. Ange P would make a canny assistant manager in Europe.

Sexual harassment case/disaster waiting to happen, and the playing group aint the predator.

If Pardew is to continue borrowing terms from other codes to add a glossy finish to his style of play, we may as well go with 'vertical passing attack' (with its reliance on deep 'outside' threats, as wide receivers) from now on, as a substitute for kick & chase long-ball football. Makes Pardew's long-ball game, which would extracted only a fraction of PEA's potential, sound that much better. You know colinmk isn't actually Pardew though right? You know Pardew described Cabaye as his 'quarterback' right, hence the context applied to that post (and the hint of sarcasm). Although i suspect you've bitten, because i've had another pop-shot at your 'man' (ie. Pardew). Thanks, you've made my day actually. And this is related to: if you've been remotely happy watching our quarterback lofting balls over the top (a gross misuse of a player with such a varied passing range, for most of Cabaye's time here) than fair play to you. Some people are easily pleased.

I remembered reading a pretty heartfelt/honest piece about Pardew a while back - more to do with one Millwall supporter/blogger's obvious dislike for the silver haired snakeskin salesman actually. http://1992ad.wordpress.com/2012/01/05/hating-alan-pardew-a-personal-story/
