  1. The record of 918 minutes without conceding in Estádio da Luz, in 1985/86, 28 years ago, was beaten in the 56' of this game Benfica 2-1 PSG (Cavani) Benfica 5-0 Gil Vicente Benfica 2-0 FC Porto Benfica 2-0 Leixões Benfica 2-0 Marítimo Benfica 1-0 Gil Vicente Benfica 2-0 Sporting Benfica 1-0 Vitória Guimarães Benfica 3-0 PAOK Benfica 2-0 Estoril Praia Benfica 1-0 Tottenham (56')
  2. Garay scored two goals 72h ago. Luisão & Garay are scoring quite a bit.
  3. Oblak; Maxi, Luisão, Garay, Siqueira; Salvio, Amorim, André Gomes, Sulejmani; Djuricic, Cardozo. The usual defence (1+4) but a brand new midfield and attack. Fejsa, Enzo, Markovic, Gaitán, Lima and Rodrigo resting.
  4. That guy dives like a portuguese. 10/10
  5. Really proud of the team today. Fans were brilliant as well. Jesus always explodes in the heat of the moment, nothing new there. According to his words, didn't like to hear Spurs manager telling him to be in his side of the bench area.

  7. Gaitan and Enzo. The big guns.
  8. Great season Luisao is doing.
  9. He did. After a public apology he started playing again. Scored 9 goals in 12 games and then got injured.
  10. We got a keeper and a left-back. No more Artur and Melgarejo. The main difference, in a tactical sense, is due to the departure of Matic. We now have a 6, Fejsa, who is much more positional; attacks less but gives the offensive players a bit more freedom. Individually, Matic is superior. As a whole, the team works quite well this way. Fejsa is the new Javi Garcia, in a simplistic way. Pragmatic 45'. Cardozo is totally out of form after his longterm injury. Gaitán or Lima would do some damage but they're resting for the leagues games, let's see if Jesus brings any of them, or Enzo Perez.
  11. Benfica fans in London. Hoping for a draw and away goals, atleast.
  12. The only player who really impressed me when we played Benfica last season, oozes class IMO. Yea, he's a class above. Not even Moutinho played at his level in the portuguese league. Lazar Markovic will be a Chelsea player in a couple of years as well. Unfortunately. Another serbian with the potential to be worldclass.
  13. Matic already being the best midfielder in this Chelsea squad. Easy. Give him a few more months.
  14. Benfica sold two players to a fund. Rodrigo: 30M€ + 10M€ if some performance objectives are reached André Gomes: 15M€ + 25% of the profit generated by a future transfer Official, http://web3.cmvm.pt/sdi2004/emitentes/docs/FR48373.pdf Both players stay in the club for now, apparently.
  15. Yea, it's official. 25M€. http://web3.cmvm.pt/sdi2004/emitentes/docs/FR48184.pdf
  16. Portuguese league best player imo. Sad to see him go. Would take 25/30M€ + some underrated poor bastard. Oriol Romeu would be fine. The early elimination from the CL obligate us to sell some players. Garay, Matic and Rodrigo, those are the players wanted by several clubs.
  17. Benfica 2-0 Porto. Top of the league. http://cdn.record.xl.pt/storage/ng16666B60-F1E3-42B9-BEBF-C62C3B5283B0.jpg?type=super_panoramic

    Eusebio - RIP

And a Cardozo gif, the only player of the current squad that approached Eusébio. A bit more private, more intense, so click the link if you wish to see it. http://static.dyp.im/Ys5rjMfS4i/cb3d093d279ebd3e0fe9699b93062d7d.gif Overall I believe it was a fitting tribute to a legend of the game and, most importantly, a legend in the country where he arrived in 1960. The song more repeated today was definitely "tu és o nosso Rei, Eusébio". You're our King, Eusébio.

    Eusebio - RIP

Very sad day. Portugal and Benfica's greatest icon. 9 goals (6 games) in his only World Cup participation (1966), Ballon d'Or and Golden Boot winner, simply the better player in a team that archieved many glories during the 60s. Icon. Portuguese government decreted 3 days of grieve in honor of his memory. Our next game will be against Porto, in Estádio da Luz. 16h, 12/01. No better opportunity to celebrate his life, will surely be an emotional day. Farewell, Rei Eusébio. http://imortaisdofutebol.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/eusebio.png?w=960
