  1. Portuguese league cup final: Braga 1-0 Porco, 82' José Peseiro, the guy who managed Sporting when you faced them in 2005, may actually win something. He's as loser as it gets. Still time to lose this cup though.

    Papiss Cissé

According to portuguese media, after the final whistle our manager, Jesus himself, told him, and I'm quoting, "you're a great player". http://www.record.xl.pt/Futebol/Nacional/1a_liga/Benfica/interior.aspx?content_id=815317 Impressed me. Great raw qualities, only needs a bit of tactical training. Way too many offsides.
  3. The turkish are the antithesis of the United fans. What a plague.
  4. Barbas. He owns a restaurant very famous among the club and players, and supports the team everywhere we go. http://www.ionline.pt/adjuntos/102/imagenes/000/045/0000045387.jpg
  5. If you play the same way you did for those 20 mins (+/-) against us, I predict a 5-0. Best of luck.
  6. Salvio, I love you. Class. Great game Newcastle, honestly. 20 intense minutes.
  7. Artur, Almeida, Luisão, Garay, Melgarejo, Matic, Enzo Perez, Salvio, Ola John, Gaitán, Lima
  8. Definitely. Plenty of our players in the last couple of years have some kind of connection to those regions. Witsel (bought for 8M€, sold for 40M€ one year later), Ola John, Matic (played one season for Vitesse), Djuricic and possibly Sulejmani (don't know if he already signed or not). Allegedly currently watching Leroy Fer, Jordy Clasie and Van Ginkel as well. Argentinian and brazilians are currently not so attractive markets. Full of talent, yet way more ri$ky. In South America we are turning to Paraguay and Uruguay. Many of their best young players are already signed (Derlis Gonzalez, Jorge Rojas, Jim Varela...). Regarding Djuricic, he sure seems a big talent. He'll probably be our next number 10, after Rui Costa and Pablo Aimar. Symbolic.
  9. He's out of shape. Had an injury this year, only plays for 15/20 min here and then now. We bought Filip Djuricic already thinking about his replacement.
  10. 21 players traveling to Newcastle: Artur Moraes, Paulo Lopes and Bruno Varela; Jardel, Maxi Pereira, Luisão, Garay, Melgarejo, André Almeida and Roderick; Matic, Enzo Perez, Salvio, Ola John, Gaitán, Pablo Aimar, Urreta and André Gomes; Rodrigo, Lima and Cardozo.
  11. The goal is quality but I believe videos are against the rules.
  12. Judging by your manager's words United will be patient instead of going all out attack. He may be bluffing. I believe he's correct anyway, we'll be looking to use our offensive players pace on the counter if you guys come with everything from the beginning of the game. I wouldn't expect such an high defensive line - unless you give us the ball every time. Btw, we are undefeated for 35 games in a row in all competitions, setting up a new record for portuguese teams. The prior record was 33 games (Mourinho, Porto). Just numbers, still interesting though. Eight european games in this period. 7W, 1D. 2-0 Spartak, 2-1 Celtic, 0-0 Barcelona, 0-1 Bayer Leverkusen, 2-1 Bayer Leverkusen, 1-0 Bordeaux, 2-3 Bordeaux and 3-1 against you guys. I believe St James Park will be the 2nd or 3rd most difficult european game; Camp Nou 1st, Leverkusen or Newcastle 2nd. Surely a tight game.
  13. And Benfica's no Sporting Well done, Sir. In 2004/05 Sporting were defeated in Estádio da Luz 1-0, losing the 1st place to us, and 4 days later lost the UEFA Cup final 3-1, in Alvalade.
  14. We play Paços de Ferreira on Monday. Portuguese cup semi finals, 2nd leg; 2-0W away. There's no need to rest players.
  15. I expect something like this from our part: Artur Maxi Pereira / Luisão / Garay / Melgarejo Enzo Perez / Matic Salvio / Gaitan / Ola John Rodrigo We'll try to have some possession and the usual quickness on the counter. Salvio is back, so probably Gaitan will play behind the striker with a bit more freedom. I'd be satisfied with a draw.
