Don't think he's really a left back though, was just put there by Pep? More of a midfielder I think. Canny left foot regardless

He was extremely good, lot of really good aspects to his game. Looks like a child, could see him getting bullied People were saying the same about De Gea. He'll be fine De Gea did get bullied tbf Not sure a South Korean bloke will get the same leeway

Didn't realize world cup was just for European football fans. It's at an even worse time in Uruguay They've already played games at 4pm anyway. You don't need 4 hours between games

Chelsea fans seem to think Mount & Callum Hudson-Odoi are going to be incredible. I haven't seen either play but I hope they're right. My feeling is that every year or two there's 5/6 names banded about. Only 1/2 ever seem to truly step up. Turning young promise at U21 level seems to show very little correlation to becoming a top senior player. Foden, Brewster and Sancho are all in good setups to progress. Sancho is already getting games at Dortmund and Pep/Klopp both seem willing to bring up talented youngsters. Not much faith in Chelsea bringing through youngsters from the academy though True regarding those three. Be interesting to see if those two managers still fancy them if the going gets tough next season, or if they were being played because they were cruising for a large portion of the season. Might be right, but this gets said literally every year. I can't say I've noticed it being said every year mind. The last time I even heard any hype at all about players coming through it was solely Ravel Morrison and he was nothing compared to what I've just watched of Foden, like. Like I said before, I don't think Rooney looked as good at 18 either. Who is Foden playing against in these clips? Rooney had played nearly 70 times for the Everton first team and been bought by Man Utd when he was 18. Foden has played like 5 senior games for Man City I'm just going on what I'm seeing and my gut instinct, not on their achievements. Rooney had obviously achieved more by that age, but I think Foden looks better. Like I said earlier, I think if Foden wasn't at Man City he'd already be a starter and I think that if he wasn't at Man City already, the top teams would be sniffing around him regardless. Fair enough, just think it's a bit odd to judge Foden playing against kids and Rooney playing against adults at the same age

Disappointed by this as he has a lot of potential. Will look forward to seeing how his career goes

Best keeper cos of one brilliant save? He's barely had anything else to do yet
-
That was a clear penalty against Australia. They also beat Germany and hammered Ukraine in the quarters

Hate the way you use the language. Think about it makes us feel, the way Americans ruin our language. I’m with the Yanks on this one. We learned British English in school over here, but my god, American English is just so much simpler and better. English 2.0 I'm shocked and stunned.

Well of-course the US didn't even qualify, so it would be the lowest grade possible. Honestly you're 100 percent going to the Final and you won't have played a single decent game. It's absolutely fucking sickening. You're going to shitfest a World Cup and act like you were good. It'll ruin the sport. Wtf is this bullshit? Fuck off you've been terrible for four games and you're cruising to 2nd at least. Actually glad there's gonna be 100 teams at the next one. Prevent this from happening, hopefully. That happens all the time though, quite often a team squeaks through to the final without being particularly impressive. Saying that, we played some great stuff against Tunisia first half and dealt out the biggest hammering so far to Panama. Not great sides but that's who we played. Belgium doesn't count but agree last night was an ugly and tense performance. I do think/hope we blow away the Swedes the next game to put this to rest. Not dissing Sweden but we'll surely play without fear more than any game in our recent history, given what happened last time. Fancy us to play a hell of a lot better than last night anyway. I thought you played without fear last night until you scored anyway. The creativity just wasn't there. I hate this Swedish team but they're a very tough nut to crank

Most Irish people want England to do well annoyingly

They literally went too far for their own good. For the 10-20% of the game they actually tried to play they hurt us and scored. That was only once Dier came on and we sat back and let them have the ball, i'm convinced if a different sub was made they still would have done nothing. Nah. People making out like we dicked them all game. They sat back as much as we pushed them back imo. Neither side created that much in the way of clear chances imo, neither keeper had a great deal to do in the 90. Don't be Glenn Hoddle man. Not saying we dicked them, but we were in control of the game tbh. They barely had any possession in and around the box before the Dier sub. We didn't create much actual chances due to a poor final ball but we got in the final third a lot more often than they did before that sub. Think they "let" us control the game to the degree they wanted. Limited us to balls their cbs could lap up all day. As stated imo they played it very well, perfect game to beat England in fact, except they failed to drag any of our players in to get sent off then they clearly got carried away with it themselves for too long. We deserve massive credit for finishing with 11 mind. Nah I think they were awful. Fair play they were missing their best player but they played like a massive minnow and got incredibly lucky, not that England created anything either

Not see Lingard stick one in Panama's top bin? Ah aye
-
Have you scored a goal from open play?
-
Maybe not as bad but I wouldn't be trying to take the moral high ground in your position
-
England were just as bad like
-
Did they ever show the replay? Did on RTE anyway
-
Henderson's pen is better than Dier's IMO
-
Ospina should definitely save that

That Pickford save at the end of normal time is absolutely unbelievable btw
