  1. Do Sweden have any decent players under 30?
  2. Love the bit in that van Persie own goal where the ball isn't even in the goal yet and the keeper is just staring at van Persie
  3. Is Douglas Costa generally poor for Brazil? The Venezuelan right back is easily getting the better of him
  4. Terrible by Douglas Costa
  5. Playoffs. Not enough. I want playoffs, a draft, a Europe-wide salary cap, the whole shebang. Look at you. How would the draft work? Draft occurs when each academy class hits age 18. Each team is allowed to "protect" 2~3 of their prospects, and the rest are put up for draft. Using protections forfeits the same number of draft picks. (For example, assuming a three-round draft, a team that protects two of its players would only draft in the third round.) All professional football clubs who operate academies above a certain level are permitted to participate in the draft. The club with the lowest league placing picks first. All undrafted players are returned to their original academy. Each team which has lost players is compensated for the cost of development with a pre-set fee. Specifics can be tweaked to change incentives accordingly. That would take absolutely ages One evening would be sufficient. Depends on your criteria for academies above a certain level No reason for it to take more than a few hours even if it's all eighty football league teams. Thought you meant throughout Europe. Your proposals wouldn't really fix anything then because none of the best players in the league came through English academies

  8. Playoff teams: Bosnia and Herzegovina Denmark Hungary Norway Republic of Ireland Slovenia Sweden Ukraine Bosnia, Sweden, Hungary and Ukraine are seeded. I would hope to get Hungary or maybe Sweden. Don't think we'd beat either of the others
  9. If you are in a group with 6 teams your results against the worst side don't count
  10. Van Gaal/Robben got them to third place in the World Cup like
  11. I thought the same about Alnwick last season but it turned out Alnwick was considerably worse

    England

He's not, man. You've just got to ask less of him. It's ridiculous how much is asked of him when he plays. That's one of the reasons why I think he'd benefit more from playing with Kane. Runs the channels, creates space, holds the ball up - plus he's a very tidy finisher. He looks like he has more to offer to the current England incarnation than Sturridge, imo. Haven't really seen Sturridge since he got back from injury but if he can get back to how he was a couple of seasons ago he's your best player IMO

Full six points off Switzerland and Slovenia is pretty good
  14. You can't just sell the club until you have someone who will buy it so I would think it's less likely that someone will buy it if we are in the Championship rather than the Premiership
  15. It's not about the players for me, it's about the fact that the only way we could ever win the league would be by becoming the toy of some oil billionaire. What's the point in a competition that has 20 participants but only four of them can win it? Play-offs. One of the top 4 would still win Does the best team always win the FA or League Cup? Well most of the time a top four team wins yes, although there are obviously exceptions. Of course those tournaments are also often not taken seriously by clubs and they put their reserve teams out particularly in the early stages of the cup. On the playoffs idea, lets say the top 8 teams qualify for playoffs, so maybe Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, Swansea, Southampton. That would mean, for example Swansea would have to beat 3 of those teams in a row to be crowned champions, which is incredibly unlikely IMO, especially as all the bigger teams would be incredibly focused on winning every game whereas they may not be as focused in a league game in October. Tbf it isn't a bad idea and may be better than the current system but one of the top four would win every year IMO

  17. What's the story with Bobby Charlton? I don't know much about his personal life
  18. Even if we don't get through here, we're in a playoff next month
  19. Poland miles ahead in passing and footballing ability. 2 all draw means we qualify though
  20. Hoolahan a bit of a loss this evening
  21. Would we qualify for an emergency loan? Not top four so nah
