Aye. 75% success rate this summer. Far too good for Ashley's liking Not disagreeing, but 75% success rate? I mean we have only won one game this season. In terms of players bought, 3 out of the 4 would be seen as successes

1996 isn't that long ago in terms of major tournaments. Countries rarely host two tournaments in that space of time. Also England tried to bribe Jack Warner in the 2018 bidding, someone else just bribed him better France 98 & France 2016? "Rarely"

Needs to be given a proper chance. Especially after all the effort we made to get him. It's a bit difficult to give him a chance at the moment given Sissoko and Wijnaldum are the players in his way

Santon's situation was so strange, went from absolute nailed on certainty at left back to being forced out really quickly
-
He isn't good enough on the ball to be a second striker

All of our players turn shit when they leave

Like asking Rondo to score the points. Not really given Riviere is a striker. Rondo would be more like wanting a playmaker to score loads

http://www.whoscored.com/Players/104368 Chancel Mbemba's Characteristics - have a gander at his weaknesses. These are just the facts to back up obvious observations. So he's won half of his aerial duels? If he was poor, he'd be winning much less surely? What about strikers who score 1 out of their 3 shots? Are they poor? Anyone can use stats to prove a point. The eyes & brain combination is a better indicator IMO, and I can confidently say that Mbemba has had a very promising start to his PL career, and has shown a lot more strength than weakness. He's the least of our problems in defence. Winning half isn't really enough for a centre half like. I wouldn't worry about it too much though given he's young

Griezmann probably. Not sure what formation they play though
-
Thought you were agreeing with him?

Would love if he somehow broke into the Spain squad for the Euro's, very unlikely though given their wealth of talent
-
If we're being realistic there is zero hope of us getting Shelvey. We should really be scouting Spain more. A lot of the clubs have quality players and need money badly
-
I just don't think it's really necessary and think they may all just get in each other's way if they are all up there. I think 442 like we've been playing lately with Wijnaldum and Sissoko on the wings but with licence to roam is our best bet. Also that midfield in the above example would limit the freedom that Wijnaldum and Sissoko have as they would need to help out more defensively
-
Jetro Willems at LB, Berahino at ST next to Mitrovic and get a brute dynamic CM who can play and hold shit together behind Sissoko/Wijnaldum and that's a team. Ain't a fucking clue who to buy to play CB but someone like Matip or at minimum 6 foot 2 or something with some strength. It's imperative that the person brought in at CB or CM/DM be a leader/captain and one who doesn't "lead by example" For me, armband should go to Wijnaldum sooner than later - latest in the summer. Think Berahino is a bit similar to Perez. Don't think we should be breaking up the Perez-Mitrovic second striker/striker partnership anyway
-
He joined us with the intention of using us as a stepping stone. And? So did every single decent player we've signed in the last 5 years
-
Don't really see how Debuchy is a mercenary like. Moving to a way better team doesn't mean you're a mercenary
-
Can't see him fitting into the side in any position anyway, although he maybe should've been brought on

Ridiculously early to say that he's on a different level to anybody. Aye, he's played 1,5 game and people talk like he's world class. A different level ffs christ, this place ffs. who mentioned world class other than you? he IS at a different level - he's COMPETENT defensively and going forward. never said he was a world beater. he's better than dummet and haidara. We don't really know whether he is or not given he's only played a game who would you rather start if all 3 were fit? I'd give Mbabu a chance as he did well in his first game but its very premature to say he's competent defensively and going forward at this stage

On occasion he looks like he could do with a good kick up the backside. But on performances even before today, Thauvin, Obertan or anyone else don't deserve to be in front of him. He's consistently our biggest attacking threat from midfield in terms of creativity. If anyone in midfield squad was going to get 3 assists today, it would be Sissoko. He got a grand total of 2 assists last season. It's not something he normally contributes. He does create lots of chances though, according to the stats but its hard to know what they count as a chance

Fucking hell, he's picked an actual functioning team. Haven't seen any games this weekend so don't know if the right players are there but its a big step forward for him
