It appears barring a miracle, this World Cup is over for England. With the new generation of younger players, most talented of which are offensive/attacking players, England need a manager who can get the most out of them, as opposed to a safety first/cautious guy like Roy. Seeing England's Euro '16 qualifying group is piss easy as well, there is no reason to not start fresh and get that team ready for the qualifiers. Who'd be a proper manager though? Fair to say no Brit really fits that criteria, I'd argue a South American manager may be an interesting shout for England. I love it because it gives so much stability and control over midfield. It solves the Rooney dilemma (if he remains) , and Sterling is A LOT better and more influential central than on the wing. It also fits young talents like Barkley well, as they can both play as tip of the diamond or as one of the midfielders. In the diamond, you also won't need a specialized DM. All around CMs that can do a bit of everything will fit the bill. It's the most logical thing and formation to pick for England, and that's why it probably won't happen.

Would render the OFC a complete waste of time. Would it not be better to incorporate all and split Asia in to West and East for tournaments whilst keeping the localised ones they have currently? New Zealand have been complaining about lack of competitiveness since Australia's departure and that's why they are so unready for play-offs, because they don't play any meaningful game really and hence can't handle the pressure in tough play-offs. AFC+OFC, with East and West is an interesting idea. I don't think some certain countries (namely Iran) will allow it to happen. Iran and Uzbekistan are lobbying to form their own "Central Asia" sub-branch with rest of country in that place, leaving West Asia to all the Arab countries, because they don't all want to be incorporated in countries that treat each other as "Brothers" except Iran/Uzbekistan. I hope not though. The West doesn't deserve to have half the spots, and in that case Japan/Korea/Australia will be in the same region. I'd combine them both (AFC and OFC) and just let the games do it themselves. Those smaller islands in Oceania can play in earlier rounds with likes of Sri Lanka/Maldives/Pakistan/Myanmar/Kyrkygzistan etc...and then the big boys come up. England really should dispatch Uruguay with ease tomorrow, at least on paper. Uruguay's midfield is extremely old and slow, and so are their defenders bar Godin. Combine that with a dodgy keeper, an unfit star striker, and half the back line missing, and there should be no excuse for England not to win the game. I'd start sterling as #10 again. Very very very impressed by Aussies in the last 2 games. A far cry away from the team that lost back to back friendly games 6-0 to France/Brazil. They'll be favourites for the Asian Cup in Jan 2015 at their own country, ahead of Japan imo. Saints (H), City (A), Spurs (A) first 3 games for Liverpool. All eventful for different reasons . The post-CL schedule doesn't look too bad. 4 home games, probably the hardest run being playing Newcastle (A), CL game, Chelsea (H) in November.
