  1. Aye, against Sion of Switzerland. Be an absolute joke if Legia are eliminated for that. No fucking way. the draw is tomorrow, so I assume UEFA will make a quick decision as Celtic/Legia will be in different seeding formats.
  2. What's everyone's take on Yaya ? I'm experimenting now....He was unreal last year...but at 11, you'd doubt whether he can replicate it this year or not. My biggest FPL dilemma at the moment.
  3. Dynamo Moscow have an interesting side....surprised they are losing their EL tie to some Israeli team as it stands. Gabulov Buttner Samba Douglas Zhirkov Denisov Vaniquere Velbuena Dzsudzak Kokorin Kevin Kuranyi (can't believe he is still an active player) The money being injected in Russian football now is insane. They are actually pretty close to Ligue 1/Serie A/Liga Sagres in UEFA Coefficients.
  4. both Liverpool & Man Utd playing full strength (available players anyway). Can't see this one being friendly at all.
  5. Looks like we're going to tie up two Spanish fullbacks (Moreno, and Manquillo (loan) ) next week. I have not seen neither of them play, so no idea. Rodgers definitely realized he's had enough after seeing the horror show of every single fullback vs. City that offer nothing at the back or going forward. Inevitable Glen Johnson transfer to QPR in the last week will be the greatest thing about this window. Reckon Jose will stay though...well, no one will bid for him seeing he hasn't played for nearly a year.
  6. @ triggs Entertaining. Finished 4-2 with the last goal coming at the death as I was downing the last gulp of my tea. Karagandy was pure Stoke. set piece, set piece, corner, throw, throw, throw. Pretty much score all their goals that way.
  7. Watched Karagendy-Hajduk Split before going to work today morning. I think that should put me ahead of Mole as a football hipster.
  8. Didn't they get beaten by a nothing team 5-1 or 6-1 once and in the reverse they just managed to win it in the 2nd leg? Lost to Sakhter Karagendy of Kazakhstan 2-0 last year, and beat them 3-0 to advance. Legia are a different proposition though. They won't be short of fans either....Last year, they were one goal away from making last 32 of CL for the first time sine 1996...the fucking city of Warsaw was ready for a big big party. Second leg at home after drawing Steaua 1-1 in Romania. Literally, every bar packed. cheap booze, ready to implode in celebrations. Needless to say, they drew 2-2 in Warsaw and went out......the scenes on the buses and metro after the game ....absolute chaos. Will never forget it. Really hope they can finally end this voodoo this year. This is good result, shame about the missed penalties !
  9. ^ Yea. They look shocking. Honestly, this defense is nothing like Lennon's vs. Barca a couple of years ago. Only Van Djke (sp) is holding it together. WAIT 4-1 !!!!1 EWFINWAEIGEHKVDKZGVNAKGNOAWDNGAIWNFOVGIVNKNAW
  10. The cunt missed it again !! Fuck man...He better seeks a transfer if Legia lose this tie.
  11. YESSSS LEGIA !!! 3-1 Really, this should be 6-1/7-1. Legia have absolutely battered Celtic. Hope they hold on next week. Chuffed for the fans and people of the city !
  12. Dnipro-Copenhagen held up after Ukrainian fans attacked Danish ones at ht. Literally chasing them. Wild scenes. Surprised that Salzburg are losing in Azerbaijan...and Zenit (With all their so called stars starting) are losing in Cyprus. AVB working his magic I see
  13. Loads of CL qualifiers being played tonight. Legia Warsaw-Celtic, Feyenoord-Besiktas, Dnipro-FC Kobenhavn, Grasshoppers-Lille probably the most notable ties. Sparta Prague mounted an incredible comeback from 1-2 down to win 4-2 vs. Malmo last night. Used to be CL groups regulars in mid 00s, looks like they could be back this year.
  14. Dejagah has joined Al-Arabi of Qatar from Fulham. 4M pounds transfer fee.......100k/week pounds salary on a 3 (or 4) year contract. And there is almost fuck all tax over there. :kasper:
  15. Bojan and Muniesta tipped as potential long-term replacements to Messi and Puyol only 3 years ago, will now be kicking off a wednesday night game at Britannia in November vs. Burnley. Truly fairy-tale stuff.
  16. Real and Barca properly doing the who's got a bigger cock competition. It's entire predictable as fuck. You buy Neymar? I raise you Bale oo. You stole Rakitic? Fuck it, here is world cup winner Kroos in response. O, you got club golden boot winner Suarez? Here is World Cup golden boot winner James. Hope Atletico bum both dry again this season.
  17. Stoke started the transfer season like house on fire, just seen they haven't signed anyone but those 3 freebies in the first couple of weeks. Reckon they had it in them to give it a go for top 8....Were turning into a very decent side at second half of last season. Only 2 home losses all season as well.

    Loïc Remy

You can't simply replace a talent like Suarez. We are not going to a sign a Suarez replacement because they don't exist, otherwise Barca would've gotten him instead for far less than £75 million. Change the gameplan, sign several versatile attackers to increase the threat sources by taking it away from one highly lethal individual, spread it amongst several very dangerous individuals at the same time. The opposition would have little idea on who to focus their defense on as the threat could come from anywhere. There is no 1-to-1 replacement like the microwave oven in your kitchen. I suspect that's the reason for pursuit of Lovren as he is more of a front foot defender compared to Skrtel who likes playing deep and backing off. It'll allow to squeeze the pitch against those park the bus sides. Don't think we'll see a gung-ho approach like last season. Also, unlike last season, I can't see us playing with 2 strikers in most games...so that should help midfield control and hence defensive stability. I don't think Remy will be a starter in big games or ideal starting XI, but he'll get plenty of games. I think if he gets 10+ league goals, it means he has done well. He's the most similar striker to Sturridge in the link, and given the niggling injuries that the former picks up, he'd be a back up without having to change style of play. Also, it's a myth that Suarez brought the best of Sturridge. Sturridge' scoring record was significantly better when Suarez was banned/unavailable or even when he wasn't knocking them in. Sterling was the one with very good understanding with Suarez, whereas Coutinho and Sturridge were more "together" . I really hope we do a Spurs though, if it means finishing 3 points lower after selling the star player. I think Spurs' 69 points without Bale, and with all the managerial problems (being managed by Tim fucking Sherwood for half season), only 3 points behind their best ever PL season with Bale, was actually quiet respectable and decent for Spurs.
  19. Not sure about Lovren for 16M pounds (20 Euros) , but that's surely the end of either Skrtel/Agger. Not exactly sure which one will go, but there is simply too many centre backs on the books now. Wouldn't be surprised if someone like Kolo Toure ended up at Newcastle/Sunderland as utility squad player for free.
  20. Unbelievable fee for Borini. I don't wanna jinx it in case he doesn't agree terms. But to get 21M for Assaidi and him is a massive get out of jail card. Used to mock Ayre for his negotiation skills, but he's been great this summer so far.
  21. Barrett saying Rodgers has cooled down on Bony, and prefers Remy at 8M release clause because it represents better value. That could be a great Fantasy option if Remy's price is low . EDIT: Just checked, he is 7.5 . Still a decent option.
  22. http://i57.tinypic.com/1y8yoh.png First attempt, will defo change it once more transfers come in. Curious to see what price are Costa/Markovic are rated at. Worry is RVP. He has easy fixtures at beginning, but he'll be knackered after a long season and WC...so may not be at his best early on.
  23. Frzer Campbell and Gylfi to Crystal Palace Un-Pulisesque signings to be fair.
  24. ^ I think all 3 players at times last week before Reid's injury. Reid was RB. Demel LB, with Obrien filling in for Reid after he got injured. I think Collins is better than Tomkins. Never seen a PL CB destroy Suarez how he did at Anfield in April 2013. Wasn't he also the one who scored 2 goals past Man Utd at Boylen ground the other year?
  25. James Collins for 4.5 is the best value out there. Keeps loads of clean sheets, and scores a few goals to boot as well.
