  1. Utterly bizarre line of questioning re Tonali, even more so than the last set of questions she asked about him which is a hell of an achievement.
  2. It isn’t, that’s a fact I isn’t moving either which is a big part of the problem we face.
  3. Which is the issue with what we’ve done; we can value him at whatever but his cost is fixed.
  4. Would be surprised if he agreed to there 60k per week wage offer.
  5. We did, yes we got the money for Anderson up front (in accounting terms) but the fee for Vlad will be amortised over the duration of his contract probably cost us about 7m per year Eales can’t even do an FFP workaround properly.
  6. This year runs from 1-7 -31/6 so it all depends on what happens between now and then. As silly as it sounds, it’s a line we have to be continually pushing in all forms because we are far behind in all aspects compared to the lot we are trying to chase.
  7. Yeah that’s what I’m kinda saying, we talk about it but we don’t challenge it. AS took the play nice approach and all it lead to was even harder rules.
  8. Fair play, I think I’ve been posting long enough for you to know that isnt the point
  9. Your right, but let’s be honest with ourselves we can’t even find a new site for the training ground, we clear lack o lot of competency in a lot of areas. Have our youth teams even got managers or is that something else pending to do? Hand on heart we lack direction and leadership and are struggling to live u pro the grandiose statements that have been made.
  10. Trust the process which is now a 13 year one according to the gaffa
  11. Has anyone from our management team ever come out and spoke about psr in the manner munchi and his side kick did the other week? We as fans obviously loathe it but I haven’t heard many actual complaints about it from the hierarchy at all. Villas owners are considering challenging it legally but we appear to meekly accept it.
  12. Will be curious to see if he’s still with them in 12 months.
  13. Ramsdale to Southampton on a 4 year deal. Official.

Thing is, none of that should even factor. You have a hard deadline and other targets lined up. You do not have no other options and walk away on the eve of the deadline as that’s monumentally stupid.

Yeah it is a cycle and you have to be creative and have a plan to get out of it which is my biggest concern, I truly believe we don't have much of either. I actually don't see our actions thus far as aligning with the stated goals, this could be my emotions talking but we've deferred big decisions or not bothered (Training ground, stadium, lack of sponsors, sponsors we have signed up are for terms where we are locked in to figures below our rivals) I'm a broken record I know and I apologise for it, but I just don't see how we compete without a manager doing miracles on a recurring basis which becomes harder and harder with every passing year.

Why remind us our pathetic attempt again man?
  17. Reading between the lines i didn;t at all feel like Eddie had been fucked over, which makes me wonder if Hope was right. 99% of managers in his shoes at that moment would be flipping tables.

This also explains the lack of offers for Bruno and Isak as well as Liverpools Gordons offer. The liquidity has been sucked out of the market because the rules have teeth and now everyone is scrambling.

This is spot on, but the other side of the coin in the deal all-inclusive is hitting you for 20m per year. it's a lot to cover for minimal upside. It's why it feels like the club actually doesn't have a cohesive plan to move forward in this PSR age. Eddie himself said PSR has totally changed how things work and it looks like we are having a hard time getting to grips with it.

Probably not, but you can't overlook the fact Guehi is a CB who isn't even good in the air. AG is an attacker who is at least quick.
  21. He’s at that age whereby premier league clubs just don’t want to commit that much money for him in terms of both salary and transfer fee. The market and probably driven by psr has shifted so much if the player doesn’t have resale value his market is tiny.
  22. Not at all, we’ve had a number of success im fully aware of that but we can’t rest on our laurels or sit back and say we’ve come along way. A lot of low hanging fruit has been left and now we are seeing the result of it.

We aren’t Arsenal though, they aren’t starting Emil Krafh or Jacob Murphy. We can’t take the approach they do because our situations are not the same, or we just parrot what they do how will we catch them?
  24. You’re saying it isn’t Mitchell’s fault, but he has his share of responsibility as he wasn’t able to buy anyone, we had money to spend and couldn’t it’s job to deliver players.
  25. I love him too, although I think for us to actually do what we need to do it probably won’t work with the current set up. You can’t cry the poor me FFP tale and spend like we have. It’s such a contradiction. West ham got todibo on loan meanwhile we are holding our ducks with nothing. you can’t say the window has been a failure (I’m paraphrasing sure) and then suggest we couldn’t have do anything differently. His whole thing was yeah this is going to take 10 years and welp we just have to wait.
