Saw the team sheet and was extremely worried, witnessed Clark giving out early Christmas presents and turned it off. Seems I made the right choice
-
Everton fans on Reddit were saying Chelsea loan with an option to buy.

Given he’s going to be a consultant I would expect much. he will likely be a point of reference regarding fees and likely give us access to his connections within the game (think agents and intermediaries). His remit may also extend to advising the management team how to structure the club on the executive technical side too.

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/59698662 they are going to discuss it on Monday.
-
Neil, your a smart guy you know these people only care about money.
-
Aye if Wilson gets injured and Gayle is the only back up we are done. I think 3 (as long as they are an improvement on what we have) and a striker should be enough. Hope we get a couple on loan too pad the squad too. I don’t want to see Hendricks Krafh and Clark again.

It’s a stopgap and on that basis I’m fine with it. I’d echo your sentiment if they hired him as sprouting director on a permanent basis but that isn’t the case.
-
They likely didn’t anticipate it would take this long to get a DOF or they have indeed got Michael Edwards coming in at the end of the season.
-
This doesn’t make much sense imo. When we hire an actual DOF he will have his own ideas and positions he wants filling.
-
His claim to fame seems to be back in the early 2000’s. Seems to be just a consultancy role for the short term however. bit worrying the reliance on consultants though, it seems very Tory-ish.
-
I would be lying if I said it did. Not sure I’d fancy us to stay up with just 3 players brought in either.

Do we have any understanding of the vaccine hesitancy? I have my theories but do we have anything concrete? Of course these players are making a huge mistake but good luck solving a problem without understanding it.
-
I’d be worried too but I’m going to consign it to speculation which is without basis.
-
Wilson, I don’t think giving a new signing captain is a good idea at all.
-
Working exactly as intended.
-
His loan pre dated FFP.
-
Yes, it is true that Newcastle is interested in Kieran Trippier as they say in England and it is true that Atlético is open to negotiating but nothing advanced yet. The parties will have to talk about it

Yorkie, this is great thanks for the well thought out post. I try to think about it like this: In life your either moving forwards or backwards prior to Ashley we were one of the biggest clubs in the country. As well know during his tenure his tenure he totally hollowed us out and left a empty shell behind. If we would have continued on our pre Ashley trajectory we would likely have revenue matching Spurs and Arsenal. Given we are constrained now by FFP even if we went nuts and spent right up to the limit the time and revenue lost under Ashley would likely see us at best at par to where we should be IMO.
-
Aye, if we can pull this off it would be a fantastic signing.
-
The issue isn’t injecting money in to the company, the issue is what counts towards FFP spend. the reason the likes of Man city have to do these stupid sponsorships is because the ownership can’t just inject money and have of count towards FFP.
-
Of course it is, FFP is designed to prevent other clubs progressing. It has nothing to do with fairness or any other such concept. its the cartel protecting itself. and no it won’t, because most people are stupid and fail to grasp the concepts above.
-
FFP is over a 3 year period so any club breaching would have time to correct.
-
They can discount a set amount of the sponsorship deal towards the FFP quota. eg. Deal signed in champ ship worth 100m per season. Epl judge fair value to be 10m per season. thus 10m and not 100m would be the value used for FFP purposes.
