  2. You're right about our squad, but they've shown they can fight. As for Poyet's signings ? Vergini has been awesome at right back for the last 4 games. Anyway, I'm on the beer already, so I'll probably have a look on here tomorrow when I've sobered up. Arise Sir Gus Poyet
  3. Another one of those days where I want Newcastle to win We've had too many of those this season. Although after watching your lot over the last few months, I'm not confident you can beat Cardiff, regardless of how poor they are. We could be safe today if results go our way, but that's not the Sunderland way. I'm certain the buggers are going to make us sweat until the last day
  4. First time this season, which is strange. Lose or draw today and it could turn very nasty in there as relegation will be almost confirmed. Personally, I still think we'll go down, simply because of our shocking form against the teams around us. At least we have given ourselves a fighting chance which I didn't think the players were capable of even two weeks ago. Today is the big one. I think even a draw would be damaging now. I can't call it, could see you winning it but its anyone's game in these sort of matches What's the chances of Kenwyne and/or Fraizer Campbell scoring today ? That would be the Sunderland way of getting beat

  6. Yes, that's a bad start to a terrible thread I loved Gabbiadini and Quinn, but they're not in the same class as Shearer and Beardsley.
  7. S***, I go away for a little Easter break and we get 4 points from two of the best teams in the country. WTF is wrong with those players ? If we go down with a fight, as we've shown in the last week, then it softens the blow a little. If we buckle at home against the teams we're expected to beat, as we have all season, then I'll be f***ing fuming. If players lack skill that's fine, but to get relegated with a whimper, as was looking likely, is unforgivable. I don't think Newcastle will beat Cardiff, not from what I've seen over the last few months, your lot are woeful at the minute. I've got to say none of the above will mean diddly squat if Norwich beat Liverpool today.
  8. I'd quite happily wire the fuckers up.
  9. I've not been on here for a while as my time has been mainly taken up by my extra counselling sessions, and long ponderous walks in the country At the time of that thread there were plenty of us Sunderland fans on there posting that the season was going to be a disaster, and we we shot down with the usual Mag kernt, WUM or bedwetter responses. I was accused of being all three for politely pointing out that this season was going to be a disaster, based purely on what recent SAFC history has taught us and that DI Canio and Di Fanti were useless. Sadly, and predictably, I was right. It actually looks like we'll probably be relegated before our last two homes games. I bet those are a barrel of laughs, and I wouldn't much fancy being a Sunderland player on those two days. The season hasn't been all bad. Taking six points from you lot, and the cup final were fantastic, and something I though I'd never see as a Sunderland fan, and I'll always look at those days with happiness. But the overriding feeling I'll get when it all comes to it's inevitable conclusion "oh well, we're down again", which in itself is quite damning. We have to stick with Poyet, as constantly changing managers has been a nightmare. But he must git rid of the poison we've accumulated over the last 4 or 5 years, and start again in the Championship. Many Sunderland fans, and some fans from other clubs, think we'll come straight back up. I don't. I think the play-offs would be a more realistic target, and would be happy with that. I'm obviously disappointed with the way the season has gone, but it's came as no surprise, and the blow has been softened by the fact that many of us seen it coming. I know it's a cliché, but f*** it. Sunderland til I die ! A fair bit of truth, common sense and gold old fashioned Sunderland "resignation to your lot" in there. You're obviously a lot better qualified to talk about Sunderland than I am, but two points in the post I'd comment on are, why should you stick with Poyet ? Sure stability is a great thing and regularly binning managers is unlikely to work but six months or so into the job it just doesn't look like he fits with the club to me. If that is the case you're best rid of. There are the usual nominations for scapegoats for your current position but what has happened over the last couple of months is largely down to him and some awful decision making. The other point is finishing top 6 next season if you go down. Again, you know better but I just can't see you achieving that. There are some big problems with your personnel, and possibly finances too, which may mean you don't yo-yo this time and could be away from the big league for quite a while. The only reason I believe we should stick with Poyet is purely for stability. I'm nowhere near certain he's the right man, but constantly changing has been a disaster for us. As for finishing top 6 in the Championship next year ? Like I said in my post, I'd be more than happy with that, but I don't think it's a certainty.

  11. Go on, make my mood even worse
  12. I do post on there. If you ignore the loons, there's some decent contributors there, especially away from the 'pure football' threads. But it's like life in general, it's the vocal (often mad) minority who's voices are heard first and most regularly. Look at Steve Wraith as an example of this.
  13. It's fucking bleak mate There's still one or two on there who think we're not going down, but the majority seem resigned to our fate. Hopefully our away game against Blackpool next season will be on a Saturday (you've got to take the positives !) I've got to say I can't remember a time when North East football has been at such a low. We're fucked, and the players seem happy to give up without a fight. Newcastle have a manager and an owner who are detested by a large percentage of their fans, and are regularly getting gubbed at home, and seem in freefall at the minute. And as for Boro (remember them)...................................................
  14. No, he played a fair few games, but looked off the pace in the Premier League, so I'm surprised we let him go out on loan
  15. quite clearly down to the role Margaret Byrne? i think it is, Role at the FA. I agree, it stinks, and I'm surprised it was 'hushed up'. It makes the whole affair look rather shady. As for then points deduction ? It really won't make a difference. We're back at the bottom of the table, and deservedly so, and we won't get past the 31 point mark. I said when Poyet came in that the team wasn't good enough, there's a rotten core of players in there that need to be f*****d off, and it would take a miracle to keep us up. We'll be relegated before the last game of the season.
  16. FFS lads, they could deduct us 10 points, it makes no difference. We're down regardless
  17. Plus Everton at home - they could be gone before their next "winnable" home game.... I f***ing hope so, then it will be all over. I'd like to say I've enjoyed the Premier League, but I haven't. It's been s*** for almost the whole time we've been in it (barring our wins against you lot and one or two other results) but we need to go down, and tonight has proven it. Ah well, all together now ! Cheesy chips on Bournemouth beach !
  18. Even I think that's funny Well I'm off to pour a beer and get my tissues
  19. Sunderland - like Newcastle are a difficult team to manage. Place & Pulis are a great fit. Palace would be delighted to have 5 consecutive years in the Premiership playing hoofball - despite producing some very talented footballers. Sunderland on the other hand..... make otherwise decent managers (based on previous jobs and current jobs MON & Bruce are decent) look terrible. Agree with all of that except that Bruce and MoN are good managers. O'Neills Villa were shocking to watch with their one dimensional football, and Bruce's myth is only perpetuated by his media muckers. We'll get beat off West Ham tomorrow, and that'll be us gone. To be honest I'll be relieved when it's over, then we can start clearing out the utter shite that's been infesting our club for the last 5 years. If we have to suffer more than one season in the Championship, then so be it.
  20. Sorry, my mistake, it was Palace away.
  21. I've got to say I've watched Newcastle about 15 times this season, and apart from Man U away, Fulham away (I think), and Man City at home in the cup, I've not been impressed at all. But Pardew must be doing something right, because your league position is something we Sunderland fans would kill for.
  22. Our fate will be sealed on Monday. We'll put in another pitiful home performance against another mediocre team, and the best we can hope for will be a draw. It's happened all season in the league, and there's no evidence to suggest it's going to change now. What it will do (hopefully) is put an end to the delusional posters on SMB, who seem to think we are going to miraculously and suddenly change our woeful home form. Like I said earlier in the thread, the worst 3 teams always go down, and if we're one of them the so be it. It'll be deserved. Edit : So it's Sundo now ey ? Pack of bastardos.
