  1. That's why I love football and it's fans, we can always laugh regardless of the shite we have to watch on the pitch.
  2. I know it's only 4 games in but I think you've already seen what you're going to get from Colback. Rarely imposes himself on a game, even though he plays in a position where that should happen regularly, and his goal scoring and MOTM record is poor. He's an average squad player. He may prove me wrong, but from what I've seen over the last few years I doubt it.
  3. Even as a Mackem I find that offensive
  4. That's fucking Steve Coogan man ! Colback for England
  5. It's only two games into the season but I think you've already seen what you're going to get with Colback. He's a decent, efficient midfielder, who doesn't make many mistakes but rarely does anything that stands out. I'm still not convinced he's better than what you already had, and if Pardew thinks he's a replacement for Cabaye then he's delusional. Saying that, the ginger **** will probably score against us in December
  6. I'm surprisingly optimistic about this season, maybe it will all come crashing down (as usual) but I like the way Poyet sets the team up.
  7. A good point today, but we seem to have the same problems as you lot. No decent centre forward to finish a game. I'm still a lot more optimistic than I was this time last year, and at times I really enjoyed the football we played today. The game changed after Rodwell went off so hopefully we can get him up to 100% match fit and have a half decent season.
  8. I'd snap their f**king hands off.
  9. He sounds like Ben Arfa, I hope he doesn't turn out like him. As for some of the goons on RTG, I've got most of them on ignore.
  10. 10 goals from midfield last season, which went a huge way to secure our Premier League status. Also, he's had a few decent games against your lot
  11. Incredibly moving. Hopefully their bodies will be home very soon so their families and friends can give them the send off they deserve.
  12. Aye, it's a hotbed of football success is Tyne & Wear
  13. Another signing that doesn't excite or upset me. It's just meh, but after the madness of last season I'll settle for that.
  14. I never thought I'd see those words Wickham still hasn't proved himself in the Premier League......In fact most of the time he's been dire Aye, but he's young and there's something to work with in the sense that he's shown glimpses. Surely? I'm not convinced by him at all, some of his decision making is shocking.

  16. It's received mate, you have to enter your bank details for your donation to be registered. I'm feeling proud to be a a North East football fan tonight, and hopefully we can carry this goodwill on as a legacy to John and Liam.
  17. It's at times like these when the irrelevance of football, and it's petty rivalries, are put into perspective. Two fantastic fans have died in absolutely shocking circumstances doing something which seemed to come naturally to them, following their team around the world. Newcastle United have lost two of their most loyal supporters, and the people who are closest to them have endured a loss which is immeasurable. My thoughts and condolences go to the families and friends of John Alder and Liam Sweeney.
  18. I never get too excited with our signings, I've been let down so many times.
  19. Me too. Seems like Poyet is trying to get as much business done as he can before the World Cup. I like him, and what he's trying to achieve.
  20. We've got no money though, and very few saleable assets, so I'm guessing that we'll see many more deals like this before the new season starts. Our transfer activity over the last 3 or 4 seasons has been poor, and we're seeing the results of that now.
  21. I'll settle for that, after being bottom of the league for most of last season. If we play more of the decent football we showed in certain games then I'll be happy. It doesn't take a lot to please Sunderland fans after the shit we've had recently.
  22. Soon Colback will be Judas... I'm sure he's Judas on that picture. You're welcome to him TBH, he's been an ever present for the last 3 years and we've been awful.
  23. Great escape ? It certainly feels like it. Not the best by a long way, but still and impressive turn around, considering we had the worst start in Premier League history and were bottom at Christmas. And we've done it playing some good football, which was a nice change Anyway I've got tomorrow off work, so I'm off to the club to enjoy Peroni on draught and watch the last day of the season in a calm and relaxed state
  24. I've got to be honest, I thought we were down after getting one point from our first 8 games, then we had a little revival, but were bottom again at Christmas and I thought we were doomed. Again we recovered, followed by another massive slump, and after getting beat off West Ham at home, and losing 5-1 to Spurs I thought 'that's it, we're really f****d '. I really cannot believe what has happened in the last few weeks, and in all my years of following my team I've never known a season like it. Would I do it all again next season ? No thanks
