I think they're quite different. Gordon's got good technique, can do things with the ball, go past his man. Barnes is a wide forward who should run into space and be at the end of attacks, very good finisher.

While I agree in principle, it's based on experience. It's obviously the nature of modern football. There's nothing sarcastic about a thread called The Managerial Merry-Go-Round.

I don't think Howe is the problem and struggle to see who could come in and do a better job at the moment. However, I suspect Eddie 1. Is not the greatest at transfers and building/reshaping a squad over time and 2. is a bit of a control freak and as we now have a sporting director with real pedigree and competence when it comes to developing the club and the squad over time, Eddie needs to take a step back and focus on the coaching and working with the players. If he can't do that, he can't stay unfortunately.

I think one thing that makes me negative is that we're not exciting to watch anymore. I don't demand/expect top 4 or even top 6 but that relentless in attack football is nowhere to be seen so far this season.

Googled and found it. cherryred is the poster. Reading it now, that bit about him being a control freak is also very interesting thinking about the summer window and him working with Mitchell.

I don't have any complains with Eddie team selection wise. The problem is the squad and the disastrous summer window. We all knew a lot had to be done, what we don't really know is to what extent Eddie was responsible for what happened, or not happened. Hard not to think about what that Bournemouth fan said on here about Eddie's unwillingness to change personell, though.
