  1. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/12016/11288194/pundits-england-world-cup-wildcards Thompson mentions that he thinks Shelvey should go, no mention from anyone for Lascelles though. Shelvey is 10/1 fwiw, Lascelles 16/1. Harry Winks 6/4 ffs
  2. 38.4% win percentage, including a season where we finished 5th ffs
  3. I just don't get why the FA have to fuck about with simple rules. Deliberate handball = freekick, and harsher punishment if it denies a clear goal. Not deliberate = carry on with the game. Why change it to 'if the hand is in an unnatural position'?! I'd say someone trying to defend with their hands behind their back is about as unnatural as it gets. The only handball that is an offence is a deliberate one, the media and some fans seem to forget that little fact. The ‘unnatural position’ stuff is supposed to be guidance to help referees determine if it was a deliberate act or not. There are so many ‘handballs’ that everyone fall over themselves about that are just never intentional, the Man U-Liverpool one an example. Clattenburg did an interview a while back that I thought was good. The way he determined what was deliberate handball and what wasn’t was how the ball moved. If you deliberately try to handle the ball, you arm will be stiff and will change the direction of the ball. If it is accidental then the ball will hit your arm and go through it as your arm will be relaxed and therefore without altering the course of the ball much.
  4. Were you not defending Elliot earlier in the season? In the sense that Elliot was being blamed for goals that weren’t necessarily his fault and people wrongly assuming Darlow would do any better, aye.
  5. That’d put us on 42, fighting for 7th place and potentially European football.
  6. I don’t think the two regular ones on Soccer Saturday are too bad, to be honest.
  7. Still think out of anyone, Birmingham are most likely to stay up. They’ve been shite but Monk will get them playing better. Their next four games are; Hull, Ipswich, Bolton & Burton - 4 easily winnable games. The mackems already need to win 4 or 5 from 9 to stay up, it just isn’t going to happen. In previous years they’ve had a new manager bounce and/or a striker capable of scoring goals, this year they have neither. I also don’t get the “they’ve done it before” chat, how many of these players were actually involved in any of those escapes?
  8. I’m not in Newcastle mate, hence why I said on the same day as a home game. Huddersfield is good for me though.
  9. The fact that Lascelles wasn’t mentioned at all in the conversation, yet the others were.
  10. I was listening to MOTD2 on Sunday where James Tarkowski was being touted for England ahead of Lascelles Would be intrigued to know how many of our games Southgate has actually been to this season.
  11. Watching KI and HTT argue and trying to pick a side is like choosing between my favourite poos.
  12. If we had Darlliot in goal, we’d easily have 3-4 less points than we do now. Superb signing, sign the fucker up for the nominal fee.
  13. Hughes is probably slightly higher on the ‘bearablenessometer’ of PFMs. He’s still fairly rancid, but he’s not as disgusting as some of the others. Wouldn’t be surprised if he gets enough of out that squad to keep them up.
  14. Problem with Sanchez is the same with Ozil, when the going gets tough they completely disappear. A World Class player is one who is obviously oustanding but would pick the game up by the scruff of the neck and completely change/win it when needed. Sanchez doesn’t do that imo. He’s fantastic when everything is going well, but anonymous mainly when it isn’t. But I wouldn’t have 30 players in a World Class bracket, probably a maximum of 15-20.
  15. They’re 1/9 to go down like It was finished even before tonight.
  16. They’ll need at least 5 wins from 9 if Barnsley win this like. For comparison, they won 0 from their last 9 Cheerio.
  17. Sol Bamba with a great finish for Cardiff
  18. Barnsley play Millwall at 13:00 on Saturday too, so could be 10 points ahead (11 with GD) before the mackems next kick a ball Obviously Bolton, Reading & Hull will still be only 8 points ahead (9 with GD) but the mackems wont catch any of them.
  19. I think what TCD is referring to is that their defence is shit so they’re unlikely to be able to hold onto a 1-0 or 0-0. If they’re not scoring many then they need the assurances that they can dig in and grind out a result, but they don’t look comfortable defending at all like (the Leicester game an example, where they dropped 2 points).
