  1. Been like that for a few years like, but aye.
  2. Erm.. Isn't that their whole argument? Why has the bolded been allowed to happen? Think I've made this point before but it still shocks me that people on here, fans of a team who quite often agree Sir Bobby should've gone the summer after we finished fifth as he was losing his touch, are shocked that Arsenal fans are pissed that Wenger's been allowed to spend the past decade taking them from title contenders to scrabbling just to stay in European spots. You could say the same about Leeds & Nottingham Forest, you could make that argument for nearly every club at some stage in their lifetime. Coventry, Portsmouth, Leyton Orient, Hartlepool... they’ve all been allowed to regress. Manchester United have regressed to some degree. It happens in football, other clubs will get better and improve around you - we cant all constantly be successful. I’m not discrediting Arsenal fans for wanting Wenger out, but to be fair, they’re still not a unanimous voice wanting him out. If they sit there eating their cous cous in silence watching the match, rather than voicing their own opinion - why should I stand and fight their corner about how poorly they’ve been treated?
  3. I don’t see why this isn’t how they do it. Why do they have a bloke sat in a room 100 miles away from the stadium? Why doesn’t the 4th official not just watch it and advise the referee?
  4. Arsenal were good 10+ years ago, but they’re very average now and their squad is probably reflective of where they are in the league. Why should the FA Cup not be success to them? What else are they going to win? They’re not good enough as a group of players to compete to win anything else.
  5. Where there is an infringement, there is usually a flag and/or whistle before the ball his the net - so a lot of people in the ground notice this prior to celebrating and the celebrations are never ‘full on’. It’s highly unusual that a goal is chalked off and the whole stadium is in pandemonium. VAR would disallow the goal anywhere from 15 seconds to 2 minutes (as we’ve seen) after the ball hits the net, it’s totally different to looking up after jumping out of your seat and noticing an offside flag, imo. Add in the waiting around tor a decision and then another round of almost plastic celebrations if the goal is given and it’s totally rancid, imo. As others have said, VAR is used in sports that are nowhere near as celebratory as football is where there is a goal - which is why it works in those sports but wouldn’t in ours.
  6. This is the main reason I don’t want it, to be honest. I’m the first to moan when a decision incorrectly goes against us, but I’d rather have that then dilute the game even more with VAR. Cant think of anything worse than the ‘norm’ being a 5 second pause after the ball hits the net whilst the crowd check if the referee is referring to VAR, prior to celebrating. It’d be a complete farce and we’d see more scenes like Burton at home last season, where we have officials wandering around the pitch whilst everyone else is in total confusion. Apparently, VAR has a 98% success rate of getting decisions right (SSN), I’d question why the fuck that isn’t 100% like
  7. Added the poll. I really fail to understand why Sky/BT are so unanimously in favour of it. Controversial decisions form a huge amount of their analysis like, why would they want to lose that?
  8. Embarrassing that he’s still here like. Don’t nexessarily need to sack him for gross misconduct, just pay him off for being generally shit ffs.
  9. Would teams not just use this in the latter stages to waste time though? If you’re clinging onto a 1-0 in injury time, you could just make a challenge about anything to try and slow the game down.
  10. The north west seems to have survived the snow, I’d say it’s fairly unlikely.
  11. I think it’s about time VAR has it’s own thread, to discuss the pros and cons of a system that looks like it’s going to be implemented whether we like it or not. I’ve also just seen the Juventus v Atalanta game from yesterday. In the first leg, a handball was given via VAR for what looks like a very innocuous ‘ball to hand’ - last night, in the second leg the exact same thing happened and it wasn’t even reviewed
  12. If they reschedule it for June, Slimani might be fit in time for this one.
  13. Burnley 0-0 Everton Leicester 2-0 Bournemouth Southampton 1-1 Stoke Swansea 1-0 West Ham Spurs 4-0 Huddersfield Watford 3-0 West Brom Liverpool 2-2 Newcastle Brighton 1-2 Arsenal Man City 2-0 Chelsea Crystal Palace 0-2 Man Utd
  14. 4 wins in 24 and now they probably need at least 5 wins from 12 to survive. Not a chance like.
  15. Considering their next two are Millwall away and Villa at home, you’d imagine they’ll be further adrift than 5 or 6 points/2 wins/6 draws.
  16. Erm, well no like. If they win two and Barnsley lose two they would be one point ahead, no ? think thats what he means? 5 wont do- due to goal difference? They're only 5 points behind like, so two wins is enough......i know i haven't done maths for like 30 years but Howay man.

  18. They got a whopping 7,800 for the previous replay v Notts County. I think 1,000 of them were Notts County fans too.
  19. It’s a shame Villarreal are so far behind, Real qualifying for the Europa League would be hilarious.
  20. Hopefully this Swansea game gets snowed off.
  21. they only have 12 no? Aye. Figures’ figures are shocking.
  22. This is actually going to happen, isn’t it? 14 games left is mad considering the PL only has 10 and the Championship finishes first.
  23. Yeah, a Hull win would be the worst scenario, anything else puts them further behind. Get your bets on a Hull win. It would mean another team are much further ahead of them though. It’d turn it into a bit of a 4 horse race, with only 1 survivng. Bolton, Reading and everyone above will have too much to survive, I would think. If anything, a Hull win would be good to start building the gap that we’ve wanted to see develop all season. No matter what the result tonight, it’ll have it’s positives. They have shown time and time again, they don't need multiple teams around them, they just need to be able to catch 1 team. Said it multiple times before but their previous escapes were usually following a change of manager - something they don’t have the option of this time. I’d rather 4 teams cut adrift than 7-8 teams all within about 5 points of each other, reduces the changes of them getting out of it significantly.
