That's not how I see it. He appears to be getting the best out of some players (e.g. Sterling) others struggle with the expectations placed upon them (e.g. Toure--but still make a contribution to be fair). I think the main issue is he needs at least three defenders and looks to have made a significant error of judgement with the keeper.

Don't know but Rafa seemed to really want him pre-season. Doubt that has changed. Everton have one midfielder in and one out on loan, anyone know whether they look comfortable in midfield/don't need McCarthy? Tom Davies is starting for them in centre mid at the moment. Certainly looks as if McCarthy is out of favour. Sheyi Ojo was a name mentioned in the Chronicle this morning. Just looked at their squad list for MF.
