All scoring to be confirmed by Magpie. Week 10: I’ve assumed that post deadline scores will not be included (controversial, but consistent) so forgive me if this is wrong. Anyhoo, for those of you who retain a passing interest in this cruel sport... this week’s scores have produced a more modest points return. I reckon only 8 players have scored 20 or more, with nobody approaching last week’s dizzy heights of 30+ points. The highest scoring game returned a reasonable 114 points (Arsenal v Everton), with six correct results (one doubled-up) and six six-pointers. I can see three 10 pointers — other two from the Villa game; all 2-1 in the expected direction. Our game produced a miserly 11 points (...hope you choke on them ). Well done to POOT, South-Cheshire Toon and Pilko, who each managed to be the only person to predict a particular scoreline (games in Stoke, Norwich and Leicester respectively). Lawro would have scored 15 points, beating Paul ‘Housemartins’ Heaton who only managed 8 points. (Blades fan, so gave him ‘R&W stripmates’ Southampton, as nom). Our ‘Group Guess’ (median of our H scores vs. median of our A scores) total was 13 points. Which was well beaten by our average points total of 16.5. I also added on the predictions from YouTube sensation True Geordie, who would have picked up 12 points by Magpie’s rules. Looking forward to hearing his no-doubt volcanic take on our latest soap-opera-esque result. -

A chance to see whether Shaqiri woudl have been a better bet than Thauvin... -
You evidently don't give a shit; though not sure you or other mindless haters can speak for everybody. How do you know what he is asked to do? What expectations do you have of him based on your 'box to box' midfielder assumption? How many players in other teams do you 'imagine' are given the same brief you ar eso confident that he is? Are there other briefs/roles you which you have heard of which create a more accurate expectation? Can you think of other contemporary players who are asked to do such a role? How would they compare to your 'box to box' expectation and related disappointment?

Jack will be f***ing buzzing that his boys have done it again. Roundly abused by former 'fans and acolytes', unforgiven by fans of his home town team (after having to put-up with years of shit for being a Geordie in ther academy). Having to go off injured (rare as hen's teeth event), abused for his hair colour (genes, just like skin colour/ethnicity) and the nature of the position he is asked to play, by narrow-minded dimwits, who think they have the only perpsective/inside track on midfield role responsibilities. And losing 3-0 to the Makems... yeah, bet he's 'buzzing'...

Cattermole-esque kicking a man when he's down. Hope you're happy chaps. Personally, I find it fucking shameful.

Mojo, me and you get on and I think you're a smashing lad but this is one of those occasions me and you often arrive at where it's obvious we're gonna take opposing views. I believe in football you make your own luck and if you're going to lace your team with inexperience, defensive incompetence, no leadership and no proven goalscorer you're asking to be utterly bitten in the arse with decisions from time to time. Take your point, but you're surely not asserting that if you 'pack your team with experience, a competent defence, leadership, and a proven goalscorer' this in anyway prevents being ' utterly bitten in the arse' by bad decisions? Doesn't make any difference. Just as the former, doesn't guarantee results, may well increase the probability; no guarantees. We needed to score, and should have scored when dominating. Crowd were silenced, their defence looked nervous as fuck, if we'd scored I think they'd have crumbled. First goal was always going to be crucial today; man, how crucial it was. -

This. Though goals change games, and I fully believe that the first goal was crucial today. When we didn't score after such domination, I could almost hear the demoralisation clock ticking... -

KK song for SMc with thick (fig & lit) makem accents. If only they realised how funny (weird not ha ha) they sound, they'd be frozen into shameful silence. -
