  1. Tryin for worldys instead of percentage balls, need more players in the box to pick out too (two max mostly)
  2. Crowd are quiet and nervous and fucked-off. Need to hammer it home.
  3. Get out from unde rthat red-haired minx Hot Rod & (metaphorically) get into the paddock/trenches!
  4. Shouldn't laugh... (glances at own 'barrel'..) ... but can't help it
  5. For me, first goal even more crucial than usual today. Could be the difference between ripping them a new one and the kind of underconfident 'don't pass to me' which has destroyed us in the second half (Chelsea & Man City). On paper there is very little to be fearful of, it is all about attitude and belief today.
  6. I think the time for passion has gone in football, it's not about 22 mackems/Geordies playing a derby and if we try to play that way we'll inevitably lose. Now is the time to play football and play it better than a side bottom of the league. Respect your right to have a view Matt, but had-away and shite man.
  7. That'll be ok, as long as yellow and he (temporarily...) disables someone at risk of having a decent game.
  8. On 25th October, in days of yorn. In the semi-breathable air of pre-industrial Wearside, before the first meeting of the neighbouring tribes, long before the Meccano-like construction of the Palladium of s****, an inspiring conversation could be heard: Wor Geordie: "Oh that we now had here, But one ten thousand of those Tynesiders Who can think of nothing else today!" Billy Wagglepike: "No, my bonny lad, If we are mark'd to lose, To return home in shame; it is better we few carry the painful images. If we are to WIN! The fewer to witness with their eyes, the greater share of honour. God's will! I pray thee, wish not one fan more. By Jove, I am not covetous for gold,Nor care I who doth share my Ham &Pease Pudding stottie. It yearns me not if men steal my strides; Nor if Curly haired Gauchos covet wor lass; Such outward things dwell not in my desires. But if it be a sin to covet honour, I am the most offending soul alive. We that shall see this day and live to old age, Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours, And say 'To-morrow is Saint Boniface's Day:' (kid you not...) Then we will strip our sleeve and show a tattoo. And say 'These marks I had for Boniface's day. We'll remember with advantages. What feats we saw this day. Then shall the names, Familiar in our mouths as household words, Gini Wi-aye-man, a king amongst midfielders Ayoze Perez, Sissoko and Mbemba Mitrovic of the slaughter, Be in flowing cups freshly remember'd. This story shall the good man teach his son; And the day, the last there before the unwashed were relegated to n'er return, will be remembered. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day who stands shoulder to shoulder in witness, Whether on his sofa or on a pink plastic tatty seat Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition: And gentlemen in Newcastle now a-Shopping Shall think themselves accursed they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap while any speaks That witnessed the slaughter with us.
  9. Today is a good day. A good day to be reminded of how much football matters. A good day to enjoy the qualities of our players. A good day to go two points behind Chelsea. A good day... to start drinking ridiculously early!! Howay the lads!
  10. After 27 sets of predictions our group guesses (median home and away goals, turned into results) look like this: Aston Villa 1-1 Swansea Leicester 2-1 Crystal Palace Norwich 1-1 West Brom Stoke 2-0 Watford West Ham 1-2 Chelsea Arsenal 3-1 Everton Sunderland 1-2 Newcastle Bournemouth 0-2 Spurs Man Utd 1-2 Man City Liverpool 2-1 Southampton Pre-derby temperature test... we’ve got 18 wins, 3 loses, and 9 drawers. Scores range from the stuff of dreams: seven (2-5) and six goal (2-4, 0-6!—loving your work Kaizero!) routs, to 2-0 defeats (Bah! humbug...). Six people have put their nomination where their heart is, but eight of us have gone with the (thus far) reliable Arsenal. None of us have nominated the Chelski game (...maybe Jose’s lost the Geordie dressing room too) nor the Palace game (well, ol’ what’s his name lost most of us some time ago). Here’s hoping we ‘fall back’ into winning ways, i.e. don’t forgot the clocks!
  11. Both Uniteds for a win tomorrow Froggy/FRGIII... Are we turning you mate; your affections becoming more B&W? There must be a tinchy bit of love, at the least...
  12. Liking this! Anybody experienced one of their songs being sung in a ground/catching on?
  13. Aston Villa 1-1 Swansea Leicester 2-0 Crystal Palace Norwich 3-2 West Brom Stoke 2-1 Watford West Ham 1-3 Chelsea Arsenal 2-0 Everton Sunderland 1-3 Newcastle Bournemouth 0-2 Spurs Man Utd 1-1 Man City Liverpool 3-1 Southampton

  15. The fluidity of his movement and intelligent balls (fnaar...)were a joy to watch. Given the line-up it was vital that he Sissoko or Perez were at that their creative best. They all were, for me. It's surely not beyond SMc's tactical nous to retain fluidity and interchange between their positioning. With such good footballers in the side don't think we need to focus on the more predictable two proper wide men to create chances. Though would like to think Thauvin can cover/ join the party at some point and de Jong.
