Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

Injured again. -
Paid him off probably but hopefully a small saving on wages.

And I covered all of this in my message. There’s literally a contractual clause that has been in place all summer that City literally activated. To suggest they wouldn’t have done despite reports to the contrary had the transfer taken place a few weeks earlier is a very odd take.
-
Again, multiple journalists have reported City had a contractual right to match our bid. Having a ‘free run at him’ earlier in the window does not mean City wouldn’t have stepped in anyway once a bid was accepted. There’s plenty of links out there confirming this.
-
Exactly this.
-
If they had a contractual right to match our bid then no, we didn’t have multiple chances to sign him without them stepping in.
-
If City matched our offer then it doesn’t seem to matter when / if we bid for him as this would have happened regardless?

You spent £60m on Casemiro paying him £375k a week, despite knowing the depth you would need for Europe. For that kind of outlay and knowing how it will impact the rest of your spending in a PSR environment, you expect a key player for years to come. Instead you have a player who struggled to maintain a starting place after his first year and became a bit of a laughing stock in the media. That's entirely on you and a failure of transfer policy to prepare accordingly. Martinez has played in less than half of the games he could have been available for. Of course he's been a disaster.
-
Explain it to me then. You knew you'd be fighting on four fronts at the start of the season but chose to spend £200m on four players who have all been a disaster. That's entirely on you.
-
Froggy, with respect, what tf are you talking about. You signed Weghorst on loan after a season in which you spent £82m on one of the worst signings in your history, another £60m on Casemiro, and another £50m on Martinez. Over £200m wasted on dreadful players. 'All you could afford' ffs
-
The only one of those players we have actually signed is 23 and has bags of time to potentially increase in value
-
Why don’t you wait until the end of the window before deciding whether it’s a complete let down?
-
He literally says we need depth in the squad in the quote
-
if Isak didn't go I'd be delighted with that at this stage tbh.
-
Pope is the least of our worries. He was fine for us in the CL last time round.
-
Learn under Ederson for 1-2 seasons and then slowly push him out. Makes sense to me.
-
He hasn't played up front for most of his career, so these stats don't mean much.
-
Please can you provide some evidence that suggests that African/South American players peak earlier than their European equivalent? Otherwise what was the point of your post.
-
FFS can someone report this clown.
-
They’ve currently got too many non EU players registered so they might have to.
-
He said alternative option. As in having two options up front?
-
Why on earth would he be?
-
For all the bedwetting over the last few pages, signing Wissa for £30m before moving on to a top level CB in the next couple of weeks would leave the window looking good to very good. Finish that off with Gallagher and I'd be very happy.
