How do you know that ? It could, however unlikely, be that he acted professionally, rather than act like a brat wanting his own way, he was honouring his current contract and didn't kick off, and would stand by his clubs decision. He may well have let Palace know his feelings, but we don't know either way do we ? I forget who said it, but the saying "When you 'assume' you make an 'ass' out of 'u' and 'me'" is always rather apt in this situations.

Ah apologises, carry on. Foot defo in mouth over here.

It wasn't that we were bidding £65m for someone we didn't want. I read where Mitchell explained that we bid £65m two weeks before the window ended, and it was left on the table, that was as high as we were willing to go, probably higher than preferable obviously.
-
I think we're reading too much into what was said, as long as Eddie is comfortable and trusts Mitchell, that's all that matters. What would worry me is if that trust is not there, that would push Eddie out imo.

As you say with us being undercooked as Howe is indicating, I do get there's a good or bad time to play someone, helped by an 'easier' run of fixtures, but there's so many variables that could happen as you get to those fixtures, you have no injuries, they do, suspensions etc. Obviously you want to be on form, as you also pointed out, especially away for us. it's just not something I don't get hung upon really.
-
When you think you have kind fixtures, they don't always go how you think they should (zero evidence to back that up, so might be my tiny brain being paranoid), so I'm more of a, it doesn't matter who we're playing, just bring them on person.

Always mate, it's why I like you, you do the same, with a hint more sarcasm than I

All very true to be fair. I think the thing with Arteta is he's instantly dislikeable, he's made to the top of the managerial hated list with his antics on the line, and just his general and immense ability to be a raving cock. Ten Hag is actually OK, it's just the club he manages is an immense raving cock. No idea where this fits in the conversation, but feck it.

Or 2 Antony's difference.

We've looked shite, then again we haven't spent nearly 3 quarters of billion pounds like Eric to look shite.

Tottenham fans who work for me, there's 4 of them, plus another who works within our department for someone else. They're all moaning that injuries cost them the game, missing their fastest defender Van de Ven who Isak murdered for pace last season, and no Solanki. You should see the indignation when I point out our defence had neither our first choice centre half's. Plus no Willock and Wilson as well. I never really liked fishing, but today I'm like Robert Shaw in Jaws This lot are feckin cry babies, so bitter

Jon Jo has just signed for Eyupsor in the last week i believe, doubt there's much to read into that, but it would be a familiar face like.
-
I actually think this is most bonkers transfer i can remember. If you had 100 guesses, i doubt anyone would have come up with Sao Paulo, just completely random.

Tottenham always get late deals done, usually by the following Wednesday

No i don't want to single anyone out mate because their opinion isn't any less valid, that's how they see it and I'm not dismissing those opinions. I'm just putting my point over, too long a post and probably too passionately but it's from a genuine place.

I swear and this isn't aimed at anyone in particular, but you don't half get the feeling some want us to fail. What for? So you get satisfaction in saying, 'told you'. I don't get that mentality, I understand being annoyed at things with the lack of transfers, but are the last 3 years just being ignored ? We knew there would be bumps in the road, but come Sunday I'll be watching the likes of Bruno, Tonali, Isak, Gordon and a manager, who has made me love a team I thought was lost to me. Yes it's been a disappointing window, and yes it has set us back, but I still maintain the future is bright, despite the deck being stacked against us through scandalous rules protecting the shitebags. I love this club again, I love football again and after 15 years of purgatory, I'll be fucked if I'm going to spend it moaning, and dreaming up all kinds of mental theories as to why we didn't spend more money. I'm still going to enjoy it as much as I can, and be proud of our team. I love watching us play again, that excitement that you can't explain to a non Newcastle fan.

Well okey dokey, I wasn't thinking down that route, but.
-
Eddie is saying we didn't put all our eggs in one basket in regard to Guehi, and that we pursued several other targets.
-
Kicking off at the club and slating Howe, am I actually reading that, seriously, really ? After all we've been through for over a decade previous to these owners and this manager. Totally get the frustration of this window, but ffs. The entitlement that the scummy six have, please don't do that here. We're better than that, or are we with some of this shite.

Not sure mate, but the young player to replace Murphy point still stands. He would have been the mid to long term answer to the RW issue, in fact as it's proving so far, even the short to immediate answer. And I'm not sure he could have been developed any better either, spending a season playing at the top of a decent enough league, and in the Champions League.
